Really welcoming atmosphere, with kind, responsive and professional staff. Beautiful decor and seating. What was disappointing was the food (roast lunch), with meat that was tough (unable to cut or chew it), which was inedible. The roast carrot was almost completely raw, as was the cabbage. The roast potatoes and gravy were delicious! The staff were very good at responding to the concerns we raised, and alternative meat was offered, which was really good. The substitute meat was cold and dry, but we didn't flag that, as we just wanted to conclude the meal and enjoy other elements of the visit. For nearly £20 a head, less than half could be eaten, so it felt disappointing. Drinks are really pricey too. I probably won't be choosing the Kings Head as a place to eat, in favour of other similar eateries in the locality. But the staff really were excellent and it is a beautiful pub.

Fantastic meal, Service was the perfect mix of being attentive but not too pushy or rushing us through. Food was amazing quality, hot, tasty and very good portion sizes. The children's meals were plenty big enough, even for my very hungry 10yr old, who often has to have an adult meal to fill him up! We all enjoyed our evening to celebrate the last night of our family holiday. The quiet and relaxed atmosphere allowed us to talk about our favourite bits of our holiday whilst we enjoyed our meal. Would highly recommend The Kings Head for some top quality food, amazing variety of dishes, beautifully prepared and served with a smile, what more could you need!

Lovely welcome, friendly staff. Received food in good time which was nicely presented. Ploughman’s was extremely good with different cheeses given in lieu of ham. Crispy beef very flavoursome and top marks for the perfect poached egg which was part of the mushroom brochetta. Toilets very clean as was bar and restaurant and outside area.

Our experience can only be described as very enjoyable. From arrival to leaving the staff were polite, professional and very efficient, most importantly with a smile. All of our food choices were well presented and more importantly hot where appropriate, nothing worse than luke warm food when it should be hot. There is a very big choice of beers, lagers and wines, basically something to suit all.

Staff very friendly & accommodated our guests being held up for 30 minutes after table was booked for. Food good - can recommend vegetarian wellington. Good selection of drinks. Lovely & quiet when we had Sunday lunch. Good to see dogs welcome too.

The worst Sunday roast I have ever had. Whilst eating out I'm used to the roast beef being pink, however here it was over cooked and very dry, thankfully there was gravy to make it more bearable. Although they ate ok the parsnips were hard to cut. The rest of my group were polite and said they didn't have an issue, however afterwards they did make comments that the quality was poor. We also had a long wait for the main and dessert courses, but this can be excused as it was Father's Day. The staff were very friendly, polite and pleasant.

Excellent service from a lovely waitress, who was more than happy to adapt menu items for us. The food was delicious and we can particularly recommend the steak and ale pie. Good selection of real ales. Two courses with drinks and coffee for £30 per head so good value too. We will be back and are happy to recommend.
