The Kings Head is a traditional seaside pub in the coastal town of Cromer, right on the High Street and just a short walk away from its famous pier. The town is beautiful all year round, and, if a beach day isn't your thing, we're also within easy reach of the Norfolk Coastal Path - a great way to enjoy Norfolk's fresh sea air and dramatic landscapes. We're proud to offer a menu packed with the most appetising dishes. Don't bother using the booking service! We, like many reviewers on Trip Adviser, were greeted by blank faces when we arrived for our celebratory meal. Until the staff and management improve their communication, booking online will just provide a false sense of security. They offered to take a bar table from the musician at the front of the pub and seat us next to him and his speakers. The staff were not attentive, reassuring or bothered about whether we stayed or left, which we did, and I suggest you just avoid this place altogether!

Awful!! Booked a table for Sunday lunch for 4 people. Waited for ages to order drinks due to hardly any staff!! Went to order food was told they were closing the kitchen for 10mins as the kitchen needed to sort 22 dinners out. When finally ordered after nice bar staff came to us first, waited nearly an hour for food which was over cooked and tasteless. Spoilt our day, awful will not be returning.

If your thinking of Sunday lunch, go somewhere else. Table not ready at booked time. After ordering and paying told there was an hour wait for food Food eventually arrived cold, beef was so uncooked and so rare it was uneatable If I hadn't prepaid I would have refused to pay I did complain

We waited over an hour for our food and when it came it was cold, basic and very disappointing! The bar man couldn’t even take our order professionally! It’s a real shame because the beer garden is lovely! We won’t return for food!

On Wednesday evening we ate at the Kings head in Cromer. We waited over 45 minutes for our food. When it arrived it was cold and there was very little food!! The front of house staff were apathetic about this and so we spoke to the manager. He immediately blamed the kitchen and shouted their name within my earshot which made me really uncomfortable. He said he couldn’t refund the food because we’d eaten it but we’d waited so long we were ravenous. He offered free desserts which I had but the kids were done so just had a drink. I asked for the ice cream to be on the side away from the sticky toffee pudding as I know I can’t have ice cream but it came on the sticky toffee pudding which says to me they have no idea about allergies! My daughter had the steak and ale pie with about 5 chips. It was £14.50 and there was hardly anything on the plate. They’d run out of peas so she was given mushy peas which she hates. No one asked if our food was ok it was like they knew we wouldn’t be happy. Every table that were seated outside with us all complained. We should have been refunded I feel annoyed that we have spent £45 on such a terrible meal. There is no option to contact the parent company on the pub website. It’s such a shame as it’s so central and it could be so nice but our experience wasn’t good. Also my daughter went to be served at the bar but the member of staff was disinterested and was too busy talking to the manager who should be leading the team to give good customer service. Really really disappointed.

One to avoid! Messed up our booking, then on ordering food we discovered that they'd run out of so many basic items, including eggs, cheese, peas...at just 6pm on a Monday evening! Ordered 2 hunters chicken meals, supposedly with chips and salad. What arrived was 2 hunters chicken meals each with a handful of skinny fries (barely a child's portion) and a lame 'sorry - there's no salad left'. On asking to see the manager, our complaints were listened to and acknowledged with an offer of complimentary desserts. An ice cream sundae arrived almost 5mins ahead of a hot dessert...which then turned up with ice cream instead of the requested custard. Another 5 minute wait for this to be remedied, thus we ate our deserts separately else ice cream sundae would have melted! Whole experience can be summed up as a total shambles. We won't be returning and wouldn't recommend the establishment at all.

We booked early lunch prior to going to Cromer pier show. The staff were very helpful in finding a suitable table for 6 people and one small child. There was a good selection for both adults and children to choose from. The food came reasonably quickly despite them being busy. It was hot and good portion size. They did not hurry us to vacate the table once we had finished. Everyone was very satisfied with their meals.

We wanted to come here for a nice quiet meal while we were staying in the area. Unfortunately we chose a night with live music so the place was very loud and there were a lot of drunk people making a lot of noise. The toilets were disgusting and dirty. The food we had took along time to arrive and although the food we had was nice the portions were very disappointing for the price. Also from where we were sitting the smell of people smoking was strong. Overall and very disappointing and costly experience

Food is good but some are a little on the small side. Ambiance is great, people friendly as are staff. Good drink choice, still recommend
