The biggest problem, for us, and others in the room adjacent to ours, was the woman who brought a 3 year old and a 9-month old to dinner at 8PM. The baby howled, and Howled, and HOWLED, although your staff did everything they could to entertain her. There really ought to be a "no young children" policy after 7:30 PM. It destroyed the evening for many people, including a couple sharing their anniversary and unfortunately seated very close to the mother and children. The mother should have known better, and the Staff did what they could, but it was unfortunate for everyone in the two upstairs rooms. Your dinner prices are high enough that guests should be entitled to a quiet, pleasurable experience. Otherwise, the food was wonderful, the service was exceptional, the musician was delightful, and we'll return -- but don't think we won't complain if the same problem crops up next time.

Our reservations were for 7:30. We were finally seated at 8:00. We’re old enough to have age related hearing issues but yet when seated in a small room with two very young children (one a baby) the decibel level can seem painful. That’s why I gave the noise level rating a max. Maybe you won’t be as blessed. The food is what it is. I made the mistake of ordering the salmon and pleaded to keep it on the rare side. I could have used it to patch a shoe sole. How to destroy a fish! My wife’s favorite, the Game Pye was satisfying.

Outstanding service and great storytelling by the server. A Colonial Williamsburg experience for sure - food, ambiance, service etc. The musician was entertaining and played so beautifully. A great dining experience all the way around.

Went to dinner with high expectations based on family visiting here before. Needless to say, we were not let down. The peanut soup lived up to the hype and our dinner was phenomenal. Yes, it was expensive, but the quality and taste is why it’s expensive. We can’t wait to come back again!

The entire experience is not to miss in Williamsburg. True authentic 17th century meal. Our waitress was amazing Pauline was really amazing. Her knowledge and answering all our questions made the night.

Our onion pies were lukewarm and though they were onion, the ingredients of potatoes and apples were overwhelmed. My winter sangria was too heavy on the cinnamon, masking other flavors. The bread and accompaniments tasted great. Our server was attentive, pleasant and welcoming. The ambiance and minstrel also added to the dinner. It all made the colonial experience worth having.

Having been a long time visitor to Williamsburg since I was a child, I wish I could have given a higher rating. For the amount of money we paid (family of 4, ended up being almost $200 and that was being conservative with what we ordered.) Bathrooms need major updating. There needs to be more attention to the experience from the moment you walk in the door to the end of your time there. The food was exceptionally good and was worth the price paid. Just be aware that you’ll spend a lot of money.
