The Tavern is a destination restaurant that serves honest, simple food, no fuss, with all the flavours. The menu is seasonal with some all-time classics designed by our team of in-house talented chefs.
Serving food from midday until late the Tavern will offer a relaxed yet sophisticated setting for friends, family and business, or just a quick one whilst chatting to the barman.
Off the main brasserie is an informal lounge, the afternoon tea lounge, offering the perfect setting for the very English tradition with a few of our eclectic twists.

    Was kept waiting as they couldn't find our reservation although I did show them it on my phone...we were directed to the bar to buy drinks...unfortunately one barman was very inexpeienced and needed help to serve us much to the annoyance of the other barman.... We were eventually shown our table in the back room which was very nice and quiet. We ordered our food and it was delicious...I found that although we were consistently asked if everything was okay we still seem to have a little more waiting time between courses than we would normally expect. We asked for condiments and after 5 mins we had to ask someone else.... I ordered another drink which never arrived but gave up trying to re-order it. When the bill came lo and behold the drink was on it as well as another drink we never ordered...therefore I had to get them to take it off. The restaurant is lovely and has a lovely atmosphere however I feel that some of the staff are very unorganised. They do go out of their way to make your experience a pleasant one but its not consistant.

    They hadn’t checked online bookings for the day so hadn’t set a table for us. (We had booked about 4 hrs prior). They sat us at the bar and we waited 10 mins to be served- it seems very understaffed and the poor one barman was busy making about a dozen cocktails for a large group. We had one drink and twenty minutes later we were still waiting on our table. We watched as they made up a table and proceeded to give it to someone who walked through the door- presumably with a non online booking. The place was half empty, yet after half an hour of sitting at the bar we still didn’t have our table. Staff seem pretty stressed and badly organised. We didn’t eat but we didn’t want to spend money on a place who can’t manage their bookings, their staff or their bar. Seem preoccupied with hotel guests and hen parties.

    Fabulous evening celebrating my husband's Birtbday, our server Laura was great, she went out of her way to make his evening special. Food was good, brilliant sevice and good value for money. The restaurant has a lovely relaxed feel to it.

    Best lamb shank l have ever tatsted! The restaurant was a bit noisy due to the ladies having afternoon tea with bottomless champagne

    Disappointing visit. We have been a few times before and it was always good. They have revised the layout and it is much improved, but... the food and service was seriously lacking. We were presented with our bill before our food arrived and when the starters turned up we were asked who ordered the duck, there was no duck on the menu! Main course was a disaster. A fillet steak that had a blood pressure raising quantity of salt on it. It was inedible. To be fair I was offered a replacement but as ever in such a situation the dining partner is left to finish their meal while a replacement is prepared, at least 15 mins in this case. Thus the evening is compromised. The second attempt only had a marginal salt reduction and was borderline acceptable. The manager deducted the cost of my main but to be honest the evening was ruined by then. It was meant to be a special evening for us as it was a wedding anniversary. They knew that as they had asked and been told twice. Such a shame as it is/ was a really nice place. Not sure if we would return as previously it was so good.

    Nice food, nice staff and a lovely dinning space. This is our second time at the restaurant and would certainly go again

    Padron peppers for the starter were slightly undercooked. The jerk chicken burger was delicious. Waiter was attentive. Was fairly quiet inside for a Saturday evening which was surprising, but the booths made it feel private and cosy.

    Fantastic meals which were decent sized for the price. It was obvious they used high quality ingredients and cooked everything very well. Service was attentive and quick.
