Equal parts evil lair and Victorian cocktail salon, KINDRED has transfixed and beguiled
all who step into its portal, with whimsical eccentricity, world class vegan dishes, and ambitiously inventive cocktails.

Since opening its doors in late 2015 in the enchanting neighborhood of South Park, San
Diego, KINDRED has garnered recognition which transcends its plant-based credo,
heralded as one of the city's premier dining institutions. It has been named EATER San
Diego's and San Diego Magazine's Restaurant Of The Year, topped Zagat San Diego's
Most Important Restaurant Openings, and earned an Orchid Award for interior
design from the San Diego Architectural Foundation. KINDRED was also named within the Food Network's list of the best vegan restaurants in the country, was voted the Best Vegan Bar in the U.S. by VegNews magazine, and received regional honors from the Tales Of The Cocktail Foundation for Best Restaurant Bar in the West.

Kindred’s menu is delicious, creative, and vegan. Kindred’s aesthetic is like vintage goth punk cottage core forest witch. The servers were attentive to our food. 10/10 we’ll be back.

I am so thankful that KINDRED could accommodate us when I called and asked the reservation to be moved back one hour. Our service and experience was not affected whatsoever. Thank you for going above and beyond and gifting us a birthday treat and sticker. We had a great time and will be going back soon.

Amazing food and drinks as always. Was a little slow taking orders, but was a busy Saturday night, although staff were nice and gave good recommendations, but food and drinks once ordered came really fast! So service overall good and food and drinks were all very good.

What a cool vibe! We weren’t greeted when we walked in; even the bartender looked at us and ignored our party of 5. Finally someone came out and seated us. Great ambiance but 1/2 through our meal my husband and I were staring into the sun. Our party legit put SPF on..then when we were almost done they lowered a sun shade. Damn! Food was great, service meh. Probably won’t be back.

My wife and I come here on our date nights. This place supersedes any vegan/cocktail bar I have ever been to. I wish I knew our servers name but it’s the woman with a bob cut. I recommend reserving a table behind the bar. Much more intimate and not as loud. The food is PHENOMENAL and the service is always on point and friendly. I would give this place 10/5 stars if I could.

Such an amazing Vegan restaurant! Everything about the place is so perfect, as the menu is creative, interesting, fun and flavorful! The service was excellent as were the drinks and decor! I will be back and next time I will save room for some dessert!

Thank you for making our special occasion, my daughter rocking her socks off all summer school long, in Africa and beyond, a grand success!!! Christina, our waitress, was well aware of how important celebrating the steppingstones of life's education is and made our night extra special... Thank you, Christina! The food had been bringing my daughter, turned vegan, back since I bought a gift certificate for her birthday last year. My paddling coach is a vegan, she said that her favorite spot is Kindred, and now it is our favorite vegan restaurant. The burger is still heavy on my mind, the thought lingering on my tongue still the next day. The burger, it is insanely good.
