Rekindling from the flames, Kindling will serve great steak, cooked simply over charcoal. Our short and sweet menu of high-quality ingredients, locally sourced where possible, is cooked by our kitchen team over live fire in the open kitchen in the middle of the restaurant. We want our menu of supreme quality beef, flawlessly prepared and served by our knowledgeable and kind team to be great value, affordable and delicious for all. With a fun and relaxed atmosphere and the enticing smell of barbecued meats, our new menu offers a choice of three cuts, all from grass-fed British beef. Our choice of steaks and burgers are simply seasoned, grilled over charcoal, and served with your favourite sauce and delicious sides."

The steaks, sauces, chips and wine were delicious. The staff were nice and friendly, however service was a little slow. We had some croquettes to start and they were under seasoned and the broccoli was beyond charred but burnt and a rather mean portion. The ceasar dressing it came with, tasted more like mayonnaise than the complexities of other ceasar dressings I’ve had and made

Made this reservation almost 45 minutes before time. Paid and arrived in an Uber, and was denied entry. The maitre d indicated they couldn't take anybody else at the late time of 9:45. The cooks retired and didn't want to cook anymore, something to that effect. We're not offered any other reasons. And we had to find another restaurant or come back the next day.. this would have been a repeat visit from the previous day with great review. They could have handled this a lot differently. Needless to say it's a sour taste now and I will not repeat.

If you enjoy steak, this resteraunt may be for you. All the food was fantastic. The steaks had a great texture, an amount of fat that made them tasty but not overly fatty, melted perfectly in my mouth. The Kindling chefs sliced up the steak before being served, a nice unique touch. The only complaint about the sides were, they were very small for the cost. They were very good, just £1.00 too much for most of them. The puddings definitly tasted as though they were homemade. We all had the cheese cake as they had no whipping cream( instead of icecream due to sensitiveteeth) ??? and it had a great eggy flavour to it. The beer was from cans and the other drinks comparable to any other steak resteraunt in Brighton. The service was ok, not special but not groundbrakingly bad. Eg, orders delivered with a long wait inbeen (one main came and was on the table for well over five minutes, before the rest of the mains came.), the waiter ignoring my guest and cold coffee. Would I go again? ... Yes for sure.

The Burgers were OK but we asked for one medium and one well done. When they were served I asked the waiter which one was medium and which one was well done but the he said he would check with the chef. He returned and said they were both cooked the same way "because of the mince". From the description on the website I was expecting them to be charcoal-grilled but I didn't taste this and the patties didn't seem to be charcoal-grilled upon inspection. They were a uniform brown with no sign of charring or any taste of charcoal grilling. There were two patties in the bun which seemed quite thin and well done.

The steak was cooked beautifully and was very tasty. The wine was lovely. The service was a little slow once the restaurant got busy and the waitress couldn't answer our questions about the cuts of meat. But tiny issues which did not take away from the lovely food andi great ambience. Will definitely recommend to friends.

Came for a meal for my husband's 40th. Absolutely amazing food. Steak was cooked to perfection. We both had the sirloin, as unfortunately the wagu was sold out. To accompany the steak we chose tenderstem brocolli, the side salad and fries to share. All of the sides were delicious, especially the salad!! Service was great and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back!!

Welcoming staff, the most delicious steak ever and good value white wine. Mango and passion fruit dessert was divine and frangeline liqueurs a perfect conclusion to the evening. Everything about it was excellent.
