Arrived early. Which was our fault. Asked to come back for our booked time. Arrived for our time booked. Table still not ready and asked to sit at the bar. With menus thrust at us. No effort to take care and take a drinks order. Extremely noisy. I’d made request regarding it being my Wife’s birthday. No mention or effort made regarding that. Big delay between Starter and main. Food nice but I’ve had better for less money. Would not recommend…..

Hi Pete, I'm sorry to hear that the service at Kindling wasn't what you expected - obviously not what you would wish for a special occasion. We strive to provide excellent customer service, and we apologise that our staff fell short in this instance. It was a busy shift on Sunday, which can make the noise level higher than on quieter evenings. We're also looking to improve the bar waiting area. We want to offer our sincere apologies for letting you down during your visit. I will reach out to you privately to try to make up for it. We were in a rush, the staff catered for it very well. Food came in good time and was perfect, would definitely be happy to dine again

It’s an intimate place with tables very close together . I counted at least 10 staff which is terrific . The place was full and my main took 40 mins to arrive but atmosphere snd staff are friendly . I left at 9pm and there was a queue to get in . Small menu but this is the place for a good steak

We had a lovely meal at Kindling Friday to celebrate my son passing his GCSEs. I'm normally skeptical of steak places as most overcook or under season the meat and quite often you would have done better cooking it at home and saving yourself a bundle of cash. Other than Hawksmoor we're almost always disappointed. But given the occasion we decided to give it a go and were very happy we did. We started with margaritas and an old-fashioned (get your phone out for the latters' arrival at the table!) followed by brisket croquettes, a sirloin, two wagyu steaks (one rare, one medium rare), and skinny and sweet potato fries. All of the food was perfectly cooked- we loved it. So well done on that, highly recommend. And don't stop with the deserts- we shared the basque cheesecake and the chocolate bomb which were next level. My only slight niggle is that we asked for tap water but ended up with two bottles of water a £4.50 a pop which we assumed was just in a fancy bottle. In the grand scheme of things not a big deal but worth noting! Anyhow thanks for a lovely meal, was pretty much perfect.

The steak was perfect. I recon this is the best steak restaurant in Brighton. The service was relaxed and really good

I didn’t realise the whole proposition of Kindling had changed when I booked it. I would not have booked a steak restaurant if I had known! I assumed it was Kindling as they were this time last year. I think they should have changed the name to be clear. Therefore it was disappointing. However, the staff were lovely and service was great. Tenderstem broccoli and the wine was lovely! I am not a fan of steak and burgers though so I can’t say whether it was any good- but we were stuck with no other options on a Saturday night so we made the best of it 😊

I pre booked as we were visiting Brighton. I found Kindling on social media, have to say made up at such a find. Fantastic vibe inside, we visited in a Friday. The service was great, and the food amazing. I believe the price we paid to be reasonable for a steak dinner including sides & alcohol. We would definitely return and recommend. Thanks

First time visiting and will definitely come back again. The steak was the best I’ve ever had, the service was really good despite it being packed and the hottest day of the year. Thank you so much!
