Kiln restaurant is closed for an extra special popup to celebrate the night before Thanksgiving! Bring your friends & family, (even your stepmom, if she behaves). We will be featuring buckets of fried chicken, and bottles of our favorite, beer, wine and champagne on special, in addition to a limited menu to help prepare ourselves for holiday time with the fam. We waited over two hours for food. Would not recommend.

We normally do not accommodate parties of over 6 guests in the dining room due to the stress that it puts on our small kitchen, however we did not want to turn you and your group away when you went up in size. This was our first trip to KILN and we were very happy with our experience. We did the chef's tasting menu, which is a "surprise" 5/6 course meal that the chef dictates to you. We LOVED that idea and the food was amazing. The service was a bit spotty at times, with the food coming out without a proper explanation, particularly given the fact that we did not know what we had ordered because of the "surprise". However, since the restaraunt is new, and the staff are getting their legs under them, it wasn't a big deal and we will DEFINITELY be back. Chef Matt came over a few times to deliver courses himself, and it was fun to get to talk with him about his vision and inspiration for both his dishes and the restaraunt as a whole.

Absolutely amazing restaurant. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was awesome and the ambience and decor is very cool, comfortable and home like.

Our table was quite nice . We ordered drinks to find they were not available . Our server was polite , attentive . The menu was very limited . Did not have the Tilefish on web menu. My wife ordered the chicken which was undercooked, served with greens with no dressing and included the web foot of the bird . It was not only poor but Unappetizing ! The steak orders were much better . We waited almost a hour for entrees even though the server did his best . The meal should have been much better for the cost and atmosphere. Response ?

We looked forward to the opening of a new restaurant in Alexandria. The hotel and restaurant layout and decor are very attractive. The service was excellent and attentive. I ordered catfish. My wife ordered a half-chicken. The wine was OK. We experimented with an unfamiliar wine rather than our reliable standbys, but that's our doing. Neither of us liked our entrees. The catfish was tasteless and overwhelmed by a sauce that made it difficult to distinguish the accompanying finger potatoes from the fish. My wife thought the chicken to be tasteless and repelled by retention of the chicken's foot with the serving. We may return to sample the pork and apples dish, which seemed an appealing menu alternative, and watch for additions to the menu. We want KILN to succeed and remain hopeful that it will ultimately do so.

Sat at the counter. Chef and staff were engaging. We participated in the chef selections. Loved all but one dish. Staff was excellent. Very loud though.

A beautiful restaurant and wonderfully professional staff. The food and drink were excellent. We pass the restaurant daily and have been wanting to try, and so glad we did. We will be returning very soon. A+ So nice to finally have a well-rounded quality restaurant in old town!

Very good creative spicy food. Fun atmosphere with open kitchen. A little noisy when full. There is a bad smell in the restaurant and hotel they need to get rid of.
