D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Anchored by a striking 20-foot eucalyptus sculpture, this two-story, indoor-outdoor showstopper has been a Little Italy hotspot since opening in 2014. The Small Cabanas offers a space where groups of up to (6) guests are able to enjoy Kettner Exchange’s elevated cuisine and unique beverage program in a casual lounge style VIP setting. Guests may dine from the Lounge Menu till 10pm while being seated at the core of a lively open-air rooftop. Everything ordered will go onto one bill. Each reservation is for (3) hours maximum. Monthly Chef's Table Review: Chef Brian & team, Sommelier Kyle, and the serving staff really outdid themselves with this offering. From the second we arrived and enjoyed a unique bottle by the fireplace, until the last bite at the Chef's Table right in the kitchen, the whole experience was a pleasure. From unique, rare, and artful ingredients, to thoughtful and refined presentation, the food checked all the boxes. The menu was completely custom to the night as well, featuring many dishes outside of Kettner's typical offerings. My favorite aspect of the food was Chef Brian's use of a storied imported olive oil that made an appearance in many of the courses. Chef's take on "Caesar salad" built into a crouton was also brilliant. Lastly the wine was almost an entirely separate but completely integrated feature, with a supremely knowledgeable Sommelier whos passion for wine shown bright. Kyle worked closely with Chef Brian (who also has a deep understanding of wine as well) to weave a tapestry of flavor between the food and wine. He didn't hold back on rare bottles either, and educated the table about what we were drinking along the way. Overall a 10/10 experience and a great value.

Great food and amazing service. Our reservation got bumped because of another party rented the whole second floor. They were so gracious to seat us at the lounge and offered free round of drinks for the inconvenience. Food was well flavored, ambience was good, and the service was amazing.

The duck is so tender and the peanut sauce was very authentic and delicious. That was a must try for newcomers.

Very cool vibe and layout. We sat at the counter so we got a view of both the outdoor area as well as the dining room upstairs. Service was excellent! Our server was very attentive and made sure I was never without a drink :-) We got a couple of small plates to share and the food was awesome! The ricotta cheese with toast was my favorite. That olive oil is probably the best I’ve had outside of Italy. And the combo with balsamic vinegar and herbs was perfect. We also got a savory rice and beef dish that was almost like a stew. Very hearty and tasty! We will definitely go back! Maybe check out the chef’s table next time.

Everything we ordered (5 small plates) were delicious! We especially enjoyed the duck meatball and crispy rice. And the service was very attentive. Would definitely recommend and come back!

The breadth of food on the menu was incredible so no shortage of options.... Every dish we had was spectacular, both visually and taste wise.... Service was attentive and low key, allowing my wife and I to really focus on the experience.....

This is one of the best restaurants in San Diego. They exceed in all categories. Service, food and atmosphere and they execute these every time over and over again. Highly recommend it.

the "fast food" styled brunch w/ chef'd up fast food classics was fantastic. The crafted cocktails were on point and the bites were great. Fish Tacos, Double Decker Tacos , Ahi balls and the korean beef and rice burrito were homeruns.
