Welcome to Kestrel, a new venue where celebrated chef and TV personality Richard Blais imparts his Left Coast take on American classics, signature cuts + coastal catches in a fresh, California- modern space that evokes the energy of surrounding flora + fauna. Perched atop the entryway stairs at Indian Wells Golf Resort, the restaurant reveals an airy, earth-toned dining room and expansive bar that invites in soaring views of mountain peaks, verdant fairways and ombre sunsets. Very good experience at this new restaurant. Spacious open seating makes for a very pleasant atmosphere. Service was spot on. Food ranged from very good (steak frites entree) to excellent (egg rolls appetizer). Small suggestions: 1) expand the menu and (especially) the wine list offerings, 2) please ensure the food is piping hot when served.

This was my first time to Kestrel. The renovation of the restaurant space was very nice. We were there for a very late lunch so it was pretty empty and quiet. We both had the poke bowl which was delicious. I understand that the chef Richard Blaise was on the property. I recall him from Top Chef. We enjoyed our visit.

Our 3rd time at Kestrel and noticing improvement each time. Food has always been flavorful and unique. Tonight the time between ordering and food delivery was the shortest that we have experienced. Sampled a couple of appetizers - beet salad was very good. Thought the sauce on the egg-roll was lacking. Once again the swordfish (with a different prep and sauce than the previous time) was excellent.

The food was excellent, fresh and interesting. The atmosphere was ok, I thought the lights were too bright. But it's a nice new option for dining in Indian Wells.

Was excited to try new resto in the area, especially with RB name & backing . Positives: staff, ambience, decor, Noise level. All very nice — great! Negative: food was flavorless , needed salt Unfortunately, the pretty salt shaker on table was worthless. Holes too small for salt to come out …. Just expected so much more. Menu was all over the place. Food was boring, not good. Disappointing…. We really wanted to like it!

I wish the lighting above was on a dimmer switch - I felt like I was in a cafeteria. The menu is limited and I would of liked to see a little more of a selection. The waiter was absolutely delightful and staff

Three of us went for lunch. Been going to this venue for a decade or more. Too often disappointed. First time visit since the redo. I think they may have got it right this time. Staff was extremely cordial. Service was excellent. Menu a bit limited as one would expect at this opening, pre-season stage. We all had the special which was superb. So hoping this works out.

We (4 of us) enjoyed a very well prepared meal with great flavor. One entree was the Sea Bass and the special was Swordfish that I thought was excellent. Two members of our party ordered burgers. Both were cooked to order and were enjoyed by both diners. And our guest was pleased to see that they offered Doau Cabernet by the glass.
