Kembara is the latest project from Chef Angelo Sosa that embraces Asian street food cultures, exemplifying the tradition of cherishing time-honored recipes, while also playfully innovating upon familiar flavors and techniques for fresh takes.

The menu is an homage to Chef Sosa’s travels across Asia, with inspiration drawn from countries including Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, China, Singapore and Japan.

Each dish is constructed around Chef Sosa’s concept of a “trinity of flavors”—a balance between sweet, sour and salty elements that culminate in a perfect bite of harmony.

Food was not good everything was so salty and had not alternative flavor profile I was really disappointed I had eaten here before and the flavors were great this time I brought 5 other people with me and each of them told me individually that I hated did not like the food and would not go back :(

We had a great meal at Kembara. We enjoyed everything that we ordered. The Thai Jewel salad was a crisply refreshing appetizer. The chicken satay was very moist and flavorful and our main entrees consisting of crab fried rice, chili crab, and pepper lobster were very tasty and enjoyable. Our server, Anakarina was very attentive and top notch. She took very good care of us! Thank you for a nice meal out.

Atmosphere and vibe are very nice, located in the JW Marriott Desert Ridge. Comfortable seating and table setup and presentation is elevated for your average hotel restaurant. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and made great recommendations based on what we said we would be interested in. The food came out quickly with great presentation. Some of the dishes I would say did not meet expectations or graving vs. other Asian style establishments like Din Ti Fung… pricing was steep and portion size on Dim Sum Items are very small. Overall I would say I would dine again however not as often as if i would like to if I left satisfied.

The server, while very nice, should have explained that the food comes out sporadically. We were 4 people who were each served at very different paces. While this may be a sharing type restaurant for some, those of us who wanted to eat our own food were left stranded while others were served up to 1/2 hr. before the rest of the meals arrived. In addition, it's nothing special in terms of food. Ok pricing for a resort restaurant, but unfortunately, not a do over. There were noodle dishes that had no protein and you couldn't add a protein. We were told to order a whole additional dinner to get protein. Not worth it.

Amazing experience. Cole was our server and he was spot on with his recommendations as well as the amount of dishes to order. Every dish was better than the next. I highly recommend the crab fried rice, king crab legs, but def start with the tuna thai jewel and end with the ube ice cream. Highly recommend Kembara !

What makes KEMBARA a restaurant to visit is the food and the service. The Thai tuna salad is unlike any dish we have had anywhere in town. All the items on the menu are pretty unique to them which if you like to try new and different foods this is the place for you. The staff know the menu well and are very good about explaining the dishes. Being given a wet cloth right after you sit down to clean your hands is so nice. Water is brought immediately and refilled often without asking. Once the weather cools down, dining out on their patio will be enjoyable. You are surrounded by the vegetation and the green grass of the Marriott resort.

Have been to Kembara multiple times and have also enjoyed my experience. Food consistently great, atmosphere is cool and drinks off the charts. Love sitting at bar when I dine alone or with one other person, great service all around. Highly recommend checking it out.
