At KELP we take our time to make sure the food that goes on your plate is a fresh and local as possible. We source our seafood to be specifically Scottish and sustainable. We pride ourselves on using local suppliers for all our food. The fish people supply our fresh seafood daily. Our bread comes from Soja bakehouse, a family owned bakery in Cumbernauld. Our meat comes from ABR butchers, based in Bearsden.
Our executive chef, Christopher Hutchison, creates amazing, innovative dishes to be enjoyed and shared with friends and loved ones. We now have an AA rosette for 2023/2024 to highlight his and the teams amazing work. We are located on Cowcaddens Road, just around the corner from our sister restaurant, Ardnamurchan Restaurant and Bar and a stones throw from the theatre royal. Perfect for a meal before a show. Relax in our modern, airy restaurant and watch the chefs work in the open kitchen. Our signature dish is our crab doughnut, you'll be amazed!

Such a lovely evening. Delicious food and really attentive staff. Our only observation is that the food (small plates, kinda like tapas) came a bit quickly so we ran out of space! Our fault and next time we will order fewer plates at a time. But we will definitely be back!

Kelp was an unexpected delight. My kind of food. Small plates with very creative (mostly) seafood. Service was excellent. With the bus and train stations close by it is possible to make best use of the good wine list.

Fantastic food. The flavours were exceptional as was the produce. Really great restaurant where the small plates are not so small and the prices are not too tall.

We were greeted by our hostess Megan on arrival. We chose the Market Menu and she explained the process about the small plates. She was very knowledgeable about all the dishes and we chose 4 different small plates to share. The dishes were all delicious and we had side orders of sourdough bread and Pierre Koffman fries. A nice bottle of rosé and 2 lovely desserts, one chocolate and the other a cheesecake, rounded off the lunch .The food came quickly as we went midweek and the restaurant was a bit quieter. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience great food and lovely staff. We will certainly be back.

Absolutely amazing food🦑🦐🦀🦞 and the team there were very polite , attentive and kept us going with drinks and food. Lovely atmosphere and nice chilled music playing in the background 👌. Well done and keep up the good work. We will most definitely be back.

The food and service was really good, especially the barman Omah, who was really friendly. The food was delicious and value for money. Our visit was badly let down by being told we could not order any further hot food. Our table was booked for 8.30pm and after only 50mins later we were told that no more hot food was available, even though we were told to order 3 or 4 dishes to start with, then order more if required. This was really disappointing especially as we hadn’t even been at our table for an hour! If we were able to order more food, we would probably have ordered more drinks, so the restaurant have lost out on more money! Would we return, I am not sure after a disappointing end to our visit.
