At KELP we take our time to make sure the food that goes on your plate is a fresh and local as possible. We source our seafood to be specifically Scottish and sustainable. We pride ourselves on using local suppliers for all our food. The fish people supply our fresh seafood daily. Our bread comes from Soja bakehouse, a family owned bakery in Cumbernauld. Our meat comes from ABR butchers, based in Bearsden.
Our executive chef, Christopher Hutchison, creates amazing, innovative dishes to be enjoyed and shared with friends and loved ones. We now have an AA rosette for 2023/2024 to highlight his and the teams amazing work. We are located on Cowcaddens Road, just around the corner from our sister restaurant, Ardnamurchan Restaurant and Bar and a stones throw from the theatre royal. Perfect for a meal before a show. Relax in our modern, airy restaurant and watch the chefs work in the open kitchen. Our signature dish is our crab doughnut, you'll be amazed!

Our second time at Kelp. We were in time for the market menu, which was plenty for our modest appetites - we didn't need dessert. All thoroughly delicious, and nothing that we would have made for ourselves at home. The order in which dishes appear is a bit of a lottery, but basically we found the cold things came first and the hottest last, which may be a guide when ordering.

Lovely small tapas fish restaurant with good ambience. Service, quality of dishes and wine good. Only gave 4 stars however as ordered 5 dishes and assumed the service of plates would be more staggered. Unfortunately they came one after another, not enough room on the table for all the dishes. Our table reservation was at 7:30pm and by 8:15 we had finished eating. Our bill came to £104 for 5 small plates and a mid range bottle of wine. Felt rushed and our evening cut short.

Fantastic food, great service and ambience. It's a wonderful seafood restaurant and worth a visit. The food is very fresh, which makes a big difference and you can taste the freshness.

I recently visited Kelp, drawn in by their renowned langoustine. Unfortunately, they had run out by the time I arrived, which was a bit disappointing at first. However, any disappointment quickly faded once our meal arrived—it was absolutely incredible! The highlight for me was the clams—they were perfectly cooked and packed with flavour. If you’re planning a visit, I highly recommend giving them a try. The service was also amazing, with friendly staff who made the experience even better. Kelp is a gem, and I’ll definitely be back for another meal (and hopefully the langoustine next time!). A must-visit for seafood lovers!

Our 3rd year celebrating Hogmanay lunch here .:.love it ..brought our sis in law from up north ..we loved it all but the langoustines were soft mushy and overcooked which was disappointing..we did say though and was reflected in the bill …which was much appreciated..will be looking forward to our next visit ..and our next after that ! Superb ❤️

This was my first time at Kelp. We had a reservation and were running a bit late so I phoned the restaurant and they helped us find a more suitable time. Once we arrived, the waiter was very attentive and cheery. We ordered from the market menu and it did not disappoint! I loved the evening and will definitely be back!

First time visit and it was excellent. Lots of choice on both the market & a la carte menus. The food was so fresh and delicious. I will definitely be back.
