Located in the heart of historic Fairfax City, Kelly's Oyster House & Bar offers fresh, vibrant sea fare from the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay. Situated just across the street from the City of Fairfax's courthouse and two blocks from the town square, Kelly's is the perfect restaurant for all occasions. Whether you're grabbing a drink with friends or celebrating a birthday, wedding, or anniversary, we at Kelly's are excited to see you!

Kelly's boasts two cozy front dining rooms, as well as a large "Maine" bar and an oyster bar. On warmer days, our covered front patio is open to walk-ins. Furry friends are invited to join us in our outdoor space, but we ask that they stay leashed and with their owners at all times.

Kelly's is owned and operated by Bill Hamrock and was established in the spring of 2024, and is a sister restaurant to Hamrock's Restaurant in Fairfax City.

Went there for restaurant week. We like Hamrock's very much and this has the same ownership. Service was okay but a bit slow. The food was okay. The steak was very good but my seafood pasta lacked flavor. There was sufficient seafood in it. More typical of bar food than restaurant. Also, the suggested tip amounts on the bill were based on after tax totals when they should be based on the cost of the meal before taxes. I thought this was a bit sketchy.

We were excited to try Kelly's during Restaurant Week as we are big fans of Hamrocks and Kelly's is owned by the Hamrock's owner. It was quite disappointing. The server was disinterested in us and rarely stopped by the table even though it was not busy. The mixed greens salad with strawberries and mandarin oranges I had was very good. The rest of the food was mediocre at best and had absolutely not seasoning, except for my husband's penne pasta with shrimp and andouille. That was so overly seasoned with red chili flake that it was pretty much inedible. We were done and out in about 40 minutes...this is not how we wanted to spend our time out for a rare date night. Maybe the bar food is better...unsure we will go back.

Food was good. Service was a little slow. We ordered oysters and they arrived just before dessert. Nice environment. Will try again.

Nice to find a restaurant with some quiet seating areas. Food is great...we've been there 2x in the last month.good service.

Service was great. Our friend hot a selection of oysters. They provide a card indicating the flavors like a wine tasting!

The atmosphere was the same as Capital Ale (previous restaurant). Scallops were delicious! Mashed potatoes or French Fries would be a better option to square yellow item served. Not sure what it was. No taste. Key Lime pie was good but very narrow slice. Told Owner I would love to see the S’mores Pie like he serves at his Hamrock’s Restaurant. That’s the plan. Overall, it was a very good meal. Cosmo was good! We will return.

The oysters were fresh but a few were gritty/sandy. Great variety of oysters. The firecracker shrimp, steaks, and other entrees were all good. The calamari was so overly salted it was nearly inedible. Good service, nice relaxed atmosphere.

A nice addition to the Fairfax City dining scene. Obviously seafood is the focus but there are plenty of options for meat eaters and vegetarians. Our server Sarah was excellent.
