In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. We take pride in being the only local seafood restaurant on the island that brings fresh fish straight from the boat and to your table.

The food was excellent as always!! Smoked Boudin Balls and the dipping sauce were Yum Yum!! Our server Chance was amazing, funny, and anticipating our needs before we knew them!!

We always stop at Katie’s on night before our cruise. Made reservations and was seated within 5 minutes. We knew it would be busy, but service was very slow, much slower than expected, hostess was very unpleasant, and meal was just ok. Not near as good as years past.

Your service was top notch! So amazed by the flow of the kitchen to your waitstaff. The woman we had serving us was so great! Food was excellent too! We had a reservation and was seated immediately. Then walked behind the restaurant by the boats. Saw the pelicans and jellyfish. Really a great night. Thanks!

Our server was awesome! The food was amazing. I started with shrimp bisque and had an entrée of Oysters Rockefeller. Both were perfection.

We chose Katie's from reviews and galveston talk Facebook comments. The flavors of everything excellent. The service excellent. Nice atmosphere. Food, was good would have been excellent however the kitchen cooked everyone's seafood a little too long to be excellent. Of 9 adults, 8 ordered seafood. So this is based on everyone's feedback. The fish, shrimp, crabs all a little too overcooked. The drinks were great. Will try again on another visit to the island. We were there Sunday the 29th at 12.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Katie’s. The service was outstanding and the food was great. The portions were large so we took several items home with us. Our server recommended the fresh Tile, which I never had before. It was so good and the beer batter was prepared perfectly. We will definitely return as soon as we can.

Great first visit to Katie’s. Victoria was super in all her attentiveness to us. Parking was a learning experience (& we were there early at 5:45).
