The reason we booked the restuarant was the number of food options available in their menu. But when we visited, most items "out of stock", leaving us struggling to put together what we could eat. This is despite booking a couple of days in advance - so the restaurant was aware we were going to be a large group (of 8 people). Some of the food they served was good - like the beverages (whatever was remaining in stock) and the desserts. Main food - Curry was the only option available & it was quite average. There are so many other restuarants that serve better curry and has other options like Pan, Tempura, and Gyoza.

Kare is just what you need on a cold Melbourne winters night. Beautiful, warm blanket like curry with perfect katsu of chicken, pork or for the more luxurious….wagyu beef. Served with some bespoke Japanese flavoured cocktails, it’s pretty easy to be taken away back to Japan. Downside is that they offer bookings and allow patrons to sit there for hours and taking up valuable Kare time for others. I think a mix of bookings and walk ins either a limited seating time should be implemented. After all katsu curry in Japan is considered “fast food”
