Karam Lebanese & Syrian Restaurant has been serving Portland for over 15 years. At Karam Restaurant, we wish to expand your food experience by bringing you the freshest, healthiest, and great tasting food around, all made from scratch, including our fresh pita and gluten free pita.
Karam translated means “generous”, a spirit and tradition which has been passed down in our family from generation to generation. We look forward to sharing that with you!

Went for a family night out with 4 kids (2 teens and 2 20s) to dinner then the symphony. We wanted something "ethnic" and tasty. Karam is a nice atmosphere and the food was very good. The food prices were great, but the hot tea price seemed steep (pun intented) at $2.50 for each person. Service was friendly and we'll definitely go back if/when the opportunity arises.

We are always happy to go to this downtown gem! We always feel satisfied afterward, in terms of our wallet, our health, and our souls. Great food, incredibly authentic lovely people serving it. It's mostly a family affair, and they greet you warmly. The decor, esp in the back of the room, nearest the kitchen, is lovely and cozy feeling. Lastly--order the lamb shank!!!! It's the best in town!

Loved talking to the owner. So friendly. The food and presentation were outstanding. The kenafa is the best I've ever had!!!

Love the food here and enjoy it quite often. It is always fresh and full of flavor. We love getting Meat Mazawat platter and a combo kebab platter for 4 people! It's plenty of food and so reasonably priced. The fresh pita bread is so delicious and also the lentil soup! I'm hungry again now! The service is always friendly and spot on.

I can't express how happy I was to learn that Karam had moved. I thought it had closed down! I assumed the family decided to move back to the old country and retire from their restaurant. Then I learned that a daughter had taken over the business and moved around the block. Joy! I booked a reservation that very day. My wife and I have been going to Karam at least once a year since soon after it opened. The food always has just the right spice. The bread is always hot and chewy. The staff is always welcoming. If you like Lebanese food, you will be in heaven. If you haven't tasted it, you must give it a try. If you think you don't like it, you're wrong.

I went there with my family in a large group of 10. We were seated promptly. The place was pretty empty on a Sunday night (Father's day). Our server was courteous though seemed a bit inexperienced. The food was served in a reasonable time. I had the veggie appetizer sampler (humus, baba, grape leaves, falafel, tabouli and pita). I liked the baba and grape leaves. I wasn't as much a fan of the other samplings. I had bites of the some other dishes (lamb kafka, chicken skewers) which were good. We did not have desert. My main complaint was the wine. We had a chardonnay which was served at room temperature; not what we were looking for on a hot June day.
