Tasteless food and not authentic. The food was neither Thai, Korean or Filipino. It had a vague resemblence to the food from these countries but it was just bland. The sevice was excellent and the ambience is good as it is on the wharf. We were given a table way back but we took it anyway. I think this restaurant needs to hire cooks that cook food from the Asaian countires. They did not even have the fish sauce with Thai peppers - just store bought Siracha. Portions were small for the price, and the food came out of order - like main dish item was there before the appetizer. The wiater gets all the credit as he was friendly and patient. I will not go here again.

Decent variety on menu, servers were warm and took time to guide us through the menu. Taste was okay but somehow just missed the mark. We liked the adobo, pork belly skewers, chicken fried rice. Felt like the veggie sides (broccoli, beans) were drenched in oil.

If you want great ambiance and delicious cocktails then this place is good. I’m a little disappointed in the food. It’s okay Asian food. I feel like I’ve had more flavorful Asian food at the food court in the mall. The sauces taste like something you get from the grocery store Asian aisles. No fresh herbs! What kind of Asian food doesn’t have some cilantro and spring onions. The cuisine they are fusing are Filipino, Thai, and Korean. Such strong and flavorful dishes with complexity of textures and flavor profiles. The food is unimaginative and bland. Is the chef even Asian??! So bland and so disappointing.

Table was disgustingly covered in lord knows what with a chair you’d expect in a backyard burn pile with slats missing front the seat, just waiting for someone to bust through. Food was subpar - occasionally flavorless, bland. Was expecting better after trying 6 other restaurants along the wharf.

Food was kind of bland and disappointing. Ordered the wings, calamari, spring rolls, fried rice, and pad see ew. Wings came out luke warm the rest of the food was very unflavorful. Really odd.

My friend and I waited almost an hour for our food and our server wasn’t attentive. Disappointing experience. Also, I ordered noodles and they literally fell apart. Very saddened by my experience.

Food was not prepared as menu described. I ordered the shrimp and crab curry. They said the crab was shredded. I seen and tased no crab and had two shrimp in the middle of what seemed like curry soup creamy broth. The soup part was tasty but definitely not worth the price. We also ordered the calamari which was horrible. The worst I ever had.

Kaliwa has a lovely ambience. The food is definitely good but not necessarily great for the value. I’d want to try it again and try a few other things on the menu.

We went to Kilawa for my birthday with our family. We had high expectations but were sorely disappointed. The lumpia and goyza were soggy. The shrimp and crab curry was very expensive and had only two shrimp! The wait time between the starters and the main dishes was unreasonably long. One of our drink orders was forgotten. The rattan chairs were falling apart. Needless to say, for a restaurant recognized by Michellin in the past, our experience was not worth the money we spent.
