Dine from our Bistro Menu for some lovely dishes at amazing value. 2 courses for £17 or 3 for £20. It’s available from 12 until 6:30 from Monday – Thursday and before 4pm on Fridays. We’ve worked hard with our chefs to strip things back and keep things really simple. It’s good, hearty, tasty stuff served to you by a team who love what they do. Outstanding from start to finish - second visit and so glad we returned, brought another 4 friends and they were all seriously impressed. Superb service, great staff and needless to say, fabulous food.

This was our first time at Kala, the food was nice. There is a good balance of flavours and textures, and the ingredients were fresh. The staff were friendly. I was only a bit disappointed because they didn't allow us to have a bite of our birthday cake, which is understandable. But the issue is they ruined the cake design when they brought it to our table with the candle, it made me feel a bit off because well, the photos didn't look good. Overall it wasn't too bad. I would go back if it's just for the food.

Unfortunately I can’t recommend this restaurant for somewhere to go for a special occasion. I stated on the reservation that it was my Dads 70th birthday. It had taken me ages to decide where we were going to go as there are so many good restaurants to choose from, but I wanted somewhere really special. I knew friends that had recommended Hisbi in Didsbury the sister restaurant. So I chose Kala. We arrived at the restaurant and no one wished my father a happy birthday, I even prompted them a few times, only to be ignored. Finally I said to a waitress as we ordered a celebratory bottle that it was his 70th birthday, to which she replied that they were fully aware, as I had mentioned it on the booking and sarcastically turned to my dad and said happy birthday. Her attitude was bad throughout. There were 2 tables in the restaurant that day and they could have really made that a lovely experience for my Dad. I’m so upset that they failed to make it a memorable experience as my dad deserved and I’m so upset at the service. We will not be returning and I have had to write my first ever bad review because I was so upset at how we treated.

Third time at Kala and can’t fault anything. Food was outstanding. Crab cake and chicken liver parfait both great. Main courses were even better,feather blade of beef with rich unctuous gravy and delicious hand cooked chips, and the cod was equally excellent. Lemon suet pudding and the specials dessert were a real treat. Great value too and friendly unobtrusive service all made for a really enjoyable dinner. Will definitely be back.
