Hashbrown roll was stellar. One of the hand rolls had really meh tasting fish borderline tasting old. The spicy noodles had no seafood protein options. Not super exciting menu for it to be so spicy. The vibe was also not as cute for the location.

If yelp had 4.5 Kai would get that rating from me. Back dinning area is mandatory if you want to feel part of the scene. Food was great. The only items I felt were flat were the skewers. It's hard to dry pork belly out but somehow they accomplished it....sorry Kai chefs

This was a very special evening for my birthday. We experienced a private dining experience that was the most exceptional dining experience we have had in many years. The 12 course meal was a culinary delight, a foodies dream. We cannot wait to do it again.

The location is on the second floor of an upscale, midsize outdoor shopping center. It has a charming indoor dining area and roomy, airy outdoor covered patio area as well. The ambiance is classical upscale California beachside cool. It was an early midweek dinner time so the place was relatively quiet. My server Ian was first rate — courteous, helpful, attentive though not hovering. The chilled house sake was quite satisfactory— savoury with just the right amount of sweetness. The sushi was pleasingly presented and fair in its freshness though the chef placed too much sauce on top so the natural flavour could not emerge. I had the Bombay roll and the Huntington roll, which were reputed to be the chef’s favorite creations. The food and drinks menus contain an enticing array of items ranging from sushi to skewers and noodle dishes. Overall a good dining experience. Will be back to try other sushi and noodle offerings on the menu.

They have a top notch sushi chef preparing their Japanese food. Everything was very tasty and presented beautifully. They serve food as it’s prepared, not all at once for most at table, so is best if everyone is sharing items. **I don’t recommended the filet mignon…..save that for your fav steak house.

My first impression coming in was that the place was very nice and modern. Although the music in the background was a bit loud and thumpy. It sounded like I was at a nightclub. The food was good but our rolls and nigiri could have been a little tighter; they kept falling apart. The service was awesome though!

The food was amazing and service was great. Due to it being during the week it was very quiet but it was great.

We would not eat here again, except for the oysters. The service was very slow at first, then picked up. The garlic roll had zero garlic. The rolls were small for the price point.

Our friendly server was attentive and informed about the the menu, which was great for us first timers. Loved the modern chic setting and the dishes were delicious! A bit on the pricey side but for Huntington Beach that’s to be expected.
