Kachka features an award-winning menu of post-soviet inspired dishes including famous dishes such as the Herring under a fur coat, Rabbit in a clay pot, dumplings and much more. The restaurant is an homage to the dishes our chef/owner grew up eating. Kachka is open for indoor onsite dining. Walk-in lounge and bar seating are also available.

Our Lavka grocery is open from 11am-9pm daily with counter service ordering from our Lavka cafe and deli available from 11-3. Seating is first come first serve on our upper patio or indoor lounge tables.

We have proudly replaced tipping with a 22% service fee in order to provide a base wage of $25 per hour and free healthcare for all employees. More information is available at kachkapdx.com/wage-equity

D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Lorsqu'il a ouvert ses portes en 2014, ce restaurant novateur a initié la renaissance gastronomique de l'Europe de l'Est dans le pays, s'attirant les louanges de Bon Appétit, Eater, GQ et bien d'autres encore. Dix ans plus tard, cet hommage aux origines de Bonnie et Israel Morales est toujours très prisé pour sa célèbre vodka infusée au raifort, ses zakuski (en-cas) comme le caviar et les œufs de poisson, et son lapin dans son pot en terre cuite. Décoré d'affiches colorées et de nappes provenant de Biélorussie, ce lieu accueillant à deux niveaux est un endroit où l'on a envie de revenir encore et encore.

Come experience authentic premium wines from the Republic of Georgia on Thursday March 6 from 4pm-6pm. Georgia is THE ‘cradle of wine’, with earliest evidence of winemaking dating back over 8,000 years. Georgia can feel incredibly foreign and far away, sitting as it does at the crossroads of Europe and Asia but a visit to this beautiful ‘hidden gem’ country can start through a glass of wine right here at Kachka Lavka! Serving you will be Chris Schlueter of Ghvinos Wines, who resided in Georgia for five years. This is an open house style event. Tasting fee will be waived with a bottle purchase and light snacks will be provided.

Everything we ordered - 6 entrees - was DELICIOUS! The service was very friendly, fun and excellent overall. Bob was perfect, and they all work together as a serving team to ensure all guests are served. While very delicious, we felt the portions were slightly smaller [breads, dumplings, pickles, other items] than about 2-3 years ago, which didn't always equal. Family style becomes more of a 2 person share than 3-4 people.

Fantastic food, service, and ambience! It was a wonderful experience, and I love eating at places that make food I would never make at home. Everything was excellent, but I especially enjoyed the cabbage rolls, the sour cherry dumplings that were pan fried, and the layered herring dish with the beets and eggs. Come for a meal, you won’t be disappointed!

This place is a delight we always enjoy partaking in. They have a way of finding the most interesting twists on Eastern European and central Asian cuisine to bring just the right amount of sparkle to an evening, 10/10 will always be back for more

From start to finish….a stellar dinner experience. The appetizers (charcuterie with bread board) were the perfect start to the dinner. I enjoyed the meat-filled dumplings. The husband enjoyed the cabbage rolls. The adult beverage menu was very impressive. The non alcohol drink list was creative and interesting. Thank you for helping us celebrate our 36th year anniversary. We can’t wait to return and enjoy more culinary treats from your kitchen.
