Kachka features an award-winning menu of post-soviet inspired dishes including famous dishes such as the Herring under a fur coat, Rabbit in a clay pot, dumplings and much more. The restaurant is an homage to the dishes our chef/owner grew up eating. Kachka is open for indoor onsite dining. Walk-in lounge and bar seating are also available.

Our Lavka grocery is open from 11am-9pm daily with counter service ordering from our Lavka cafe and deli available from 11-3. Seating is first come first serve on our upper patio or indoor lounge tables.

We have proudly replaced tipping with a 22% service fee in order to provide a base wage of $25 per hour and free healthcare for all employees. More information is available at kachkapdx.com/wage-equity

D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Lorsqu'il a ouvert ses portes en 2014, ce restaurant novateur a initié la renaissance gastronomique de l'Europe de l'Est dans le pays, s'attirant les louanges de Bon Appétit, Eater, GQ et bien d'autres encore. Dix ans plus tard, cet hommage aux origines de Bonnie et Israel Morales est toujours très prisé pour sa célèbre vodka infusée au raifort, ses zakuski (en-cas) comme le caviar et les œufs de poisson, et son lapin dans son pot en terre cuite. Décoré d'affiches colorées et de nappes provenant de Biélorussie, ce lieu accueillant à deux niveaux est un endroit où l'on a envie de revenir encore et encore.

Jean Michel and his Wife Katja Kabaj chose to champion the old ways. Specializing in skin contact wines, they farm their 10 hectares of grapes in Goriška Brda, Western Slovenia, with traditional methods and biodynamic practices. Jean Michel’s interest in skin contact white wine eventually led him to Georgia. There he studied wine making at a monastery. He brought this knowledge and 9 Georgian clay qvevri back with him. Having consistently produced a range of exemplary original wines like this they prove it is not necessary to make the modern fruity style of wines so ubiquitous today.

Over and over again Kachka is where I take visitors from out of town. It is just so dang good and well executed every single time. Be sure to try a little of everything.

It was a very busy night at Kachka, we were trying it for the first time before we headed to a show at Revolution Hall. We did not know what to expect. Every dish we had was delicious and surprising, from the Chicory Salad to the Baltic Butterbrodi to the Ukrainian Vereniki to the Katchapuri or the Lamb Kebob, every thing was absolutely delicious and surprising in a good way. We already have plans to take some friends back there next time we go :)

This is one of the most dependably incredible restaurants in the city. The food is always better than it sounds - just lean into it. The service is always friendly and timely and everybody works together. Food comes out quickly and is perfectly executed. DO NOT miss out on the infused vodkas as a digestiv. The wine list is hyper-specialized and features a lot of Georgian and Armenian wines. Again, lean into it and try something new. The best philosophy to adapt here is to just experiment.

It was way too loud. Thought by.coming on for a 4:30 rezzie, it would be quieter. Second time without borsht, bummer. The happy.hpur trayeal.was a great value and the nice cream sandwiches were off the charts! The stuffed cabbage had good flavor but were too heavy. I'd suggest rice added to the filling, and lemon to make the. rolls more sour for balance. Also blonde raisins on the sauce.

If you want to order drinks, eat heartily, and order a variety of warm and cold dishes plus dessert, it will be a little bit of a spendy night, but *every single thing* we had was exquisite. The service was professional and timely, the ambience was warm, inviting, and familial. The space feels somewhere between your cozy, elderly Old World Grandmother's house and a fairytale woodland. For us, not having a lot of experience with this cuisine, many dishes and flavor combos were new and often uniquely combined. The food was presented in a lovely way and all the flavors and textures were perfection. Even things we weren't sure would be up our alley, like "herring under a fur coat," were worth trying and they were a delight. The infused vodkas were also a great accompaniment with an unexpected kick (especially the horseradish vodka). Kachka knows what it's doing and is doing it with quality and love. We had a fantastic anniversary dinner -they sweetly started us off with celebratory complementary bubbles for our special occasion - and left stuffed and happy.

Love this restaurant! As a vegetarian, I didn’t expect to have many options, but there are several things on the menu—all delicious. The staff is great, the space is cozy and not too loud.

We had a great time and delicious meal! My partner is Lithuania and she raved about how authentic the experience and recipes were to eastern Europe. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and fast in bringing the food to the table. Every single item was well prepared and tasty! Would love to go back
