Kachka features an award-winning menu of post-soviet inspired dishes including famous dishes such as the Herring under a fur coat, Rabbit in a clay pot, dumplings and much more. The restaurant is an homage to the dishes our chef/owner grew up eating. Kachka is open for indoor onsite dining. Walk-in lounge and bar seating are also available.

Our Lavka grocery is open from 11am-9pm daily with counter service ordering from our Lavka cafe and deli available from 11-3. Seating is first come first serve on our upper patio or indoor lounge tables.

We have proudly replaced tipping with a 22% service fee in order to provide a base wage of $25 per hour and free healthcare for all employees. More information is available at kachkapdx.com/wage-equity

D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Lorsqu'il a ouvert ses portes en 2014, ce restaurant novateur a initié la renaissance gastronomique de l'Europe de l'Est dans le pays, s'attirant les louanges de Bon Appétit, Eater, GQ et bien d'autres encore. Dix ans plus tard, cet hommage aux origines de Bonnie et Israel Morales est toujours très prisé pour sa célèbre vodka infusée au raifort, ses zakuski (en-cas) comme le caviar et les œufs de poisson, et son lapin dans son pot en terre cuite. Décoré d'affiches colorées et de nappes provenant de Biélorussie, ce lieu accueillant à deux niveaux est un endroit où l'on a envie de revenir encore et encore.

Jean Michel and his Wife Katja Kabaj chose to champion the old ways. Specializing in skin contact wines, they farm their 10 hectares of grapes in Goriška Brda, Western Slovenia, with traditional methods and biodynamic practices. Jean Michel’s interest in skin contact white wine eventually led him to Georgia. There he studied wine making at a monastery. He brought this knowledge and 9 Georgian clay qvevri back with him. Having consistently produced a range of exemplary original wines like this they prove it is not necessary to make the modern fruity style of wines so ubiquitous today.

Join us for a special New Years Eve experience at Kachka. We will be offering an upgraded Super Premium Ruskie Zakuski Experience as well as our regular menu and specials. Take in the New year with a special toast and, don't forget your goodie bag on the way out! In consideration for all our guests please note that your reservation will be for a limited 2 hour seating. Seating: Front dining room: Our front room is a large open room with big windows and high ceilings. Playful Eastern European decor decorate this room. Gallery room: The Gallery room is lit by chandeliers and the walls are studded with classic paintings. A cozy atmosphere for couples and parties alike. Bar/ Hightop table: Located in the front dining room, with stool seating.

We loved our experience at Katchka! The variety food and flavors was amazing. The service was very Friendly and our waiter was very informative of how to order and enjoy a real Russian meal. We will be coming back.

I have been wanting to come here for years. I couldn’t be more happy! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I can’t wait to go back.

This was our first time at Kachka, and the staff was wonderful at helping us decide what to eat for a party of 6 eating family style. We got the 40/per person cold dish spread which was fantastic. It was like tasting of their best cold dishes all brought several at a time and explained very well. We followed by several hot dishes to share. There is no tipping at Kachka, and they put on a 22 percent service fee, so be aware of that. With that said, the staff here was incredible. Since she was not "working for a tip" she very easily could have been no as attentive to our larger group, but this was not the case at all. It's the best service I have had in a long time at a restaurant. I gave 5 stars on every category. There wasn't a single thing I ate that I didn't love (and we tired a lot of dishes). The drinks were wonderful, and the staff was knowledgable even about the many types of vodka. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. The decor and energy in the building was spot on. And as I explained, the service was fantastic. If you're visiting Portland, or live here, this needs to be number 1 on your list! I will certainly be back! Gabe

We strive to set fair prices, serve delicious food and create unique and memorable experience for our guests, anything short of that is not never the intention. Hands down one of my favorite crews and restaurants that I keep returning to on the regular. Plus I love caviar and vodka.

I had not been to Kachka for several years. The food and ambience was still good, but the service was mediocre, albeit friendly and courteous. Our server and/or bartender forgot a drink order. We waited and finally asked for our check.

Everything was wonderful. Our server was particularly helpful with our many questions as we tried to pare down our selections from "everything on the menu" to a reasonable, varied, excellent meal.
