Kachka features an award-winning menu of post-soviet inspired dishes including famous dishes such as the Herring under a fur coat, Rabbit in a clay pot, dumplings and much more. The restaurant is an homage to the dishes our chef/owner grew up eating. Kachka is open for indoor onsite dining. Walk-in lounge and bar seating are also available.

Our Lavka grocery is open from 11am-9pm daily with counter service ordering from our Lavka cafe and deli available from 11-3. Seating is first come first serve on our upper patio or indoor lounge tables.

We have proudly replaced tipping with a 22% service fee in order to provide a base wage of $25 per hour and free healthcare for all employees. More information is available at kachkapdx.com/wage-equity

D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Lorsqu'il a ouvert ses portes en 2014, ce restaurant novateur a initié la renaissance gastronomique de l'Europe de l'Est dans le pays, s'attirant les louanges de Bon Appétit, Eater, GQ et bien d'autres encore. Dix ans plus tard, cet hommage aux origines de Bonnie et Israel Morales est toujours très prisé pour sa célèbre vodka infusée au raifort, ses zakuski (en-cas) comme le caviar et les œufs de poisson, et son lapin dans son pot en terre cuite. Décoré d'affiches colorées et de nappes provenant de Biélorussie, ce lieu accueillant à deux niveaux est un endroit où l'on a envie de revenir encore et encore.

Wow! The Russian meals my Poppa used to make for me could not have prepared me for the symphony of flavors at Kachka! Our server was beyond helpful with explaining dishes and how they should be served and layered for the best experience. The Heirloom Tomato Salat was so amazing, and I could eat the dumplings all day every day. The Golubtsi was our favorite main, and I was sad not to have more leftovers. What an experience, we will be back!

Overall a little disappointing this time around! We love kachka but something seems to be changing. Waited quite a while for our food, and the food seemed…rushed? Just was not what we are used to experiencing here. Slightly disappointed as we were excited to show our out of town friends. Maybe it was just an off night and that’s okay.

Did not appreciate being greeted by a person wearing a mask in 2024. Seems that because the wait staff does not have to work for their tips they don’t put in any extra to make your visit special. They didn’t even offer to refill our drinks. The food is pretty bland but I guess that is what Eastern European food tastes like. We didn’t hate it but we’re not blown away. For the price I expected better. The rye and cheese was really good though. We had the sturgeon and rabbit. Sorry to say we will not be returning.
