Family owned and run seaside restaurant with stunning views across the harbour at St. Mary's, Isles of Scilly. On sunny evenings, eat outside on the large terrace but there is plenty of space inside as well if you prefer. We are dog friendly inside and out as well, so please mention that when you book.

An excellent evening out. My husband and I enjoyed all three courses. Quality ingredients and preparation, well presented. The service was friendly and attentive, and when a large group came in next to us we were easily moved to another table. The view from the restaurant is stunning.

We were very impressed when we arrived at 7. We were met by someone who helped my husband down the steps and to our table. We ordered a main course soon after arriving. Several times the staff came to us and other diners apologizing for the wait and offering more wine or bread and oil. Finally our food arrived at 8.40. The table next to us ordered steak at the same time and were told there was a problem with the gas and they finally got their food after 9. I telephoned to cancel our taxi but he was very understanding and I called him once we were ready to be picked up. Unfortunately we both suffered very upset stomachs during the night. I was talking to an islander the next day who said it was common knowledge.

I acknowledge there were problems, for which I apologise (our booking system had gone haywire and too many people were booked in in too short a time). I have looked into this; I am told that everyone that night enjoyed their food, the staff and service generally, notwithstanding the hold ups towards the end of the evening. I am extremely upset at your outrageous implication that we somehow upset your stomachs. There were certainly no comments along those lines from anyone else, and indeed the staff when they were fed later, had various combinations of the entire menu and were fine. As to your islander, I would be grateful for evidence, as we would take this seriously and investigate further.

This is a beautiful location and the food is excellent. We were very well looked after by young staff members who were having a very difficult evening with some very unpleasant customers. They all kept their composure and spoke very politely to a man who was verbally abusive to several members of staff. In summary, I would highly recommend the restaurant and ban some of the customers!

Very welcoming, happy ambience, interesting menu. For ourselves, would be happy with smaller portions - but this applies everywhere! Nobody need leave hungry! The situation is beautiful, and all tables seemed to have at least some of the fantastic view. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. A good dining experience.

Fish stew was basic but good. The puddings were a bit disappointing: the biscuits with the posset were a little stale and the sponge fingers in the tiramasu hadn't seen any liquid - so were very dry and hard. The plain scone (the day before) was underbaked and doughy.

Amazing views from restaurant. My salmon was perfectly cooked and nicely presented. Chose house wine to compliment it which worked beautifully. Going back next week😊

We arrived, having booked, towards the end of the evening opening. Staff seemed more interesting in wiping down the tables for next day than in looking after us, and we had to wait an inexcusable 45 minutes between our starters and mains, without any explanation or apology being offered. Food was variable: starter salad unexceptionable and fish cakes good: grilled lobster special of the day with chips excellent; lemon posset slightly insipid.
