The 24th Annual Alexandria Holiday Boat Parade of Lights will take place on December 7, 2024. Purchase a VIP waterfront balcony table to enjoy a front-row seat to the parade and a 3-hour table time. The parade begins at 5:30 pm, but seating begins at 4:30 so you will have plenty of time to get your first round of drinks and apps on the table before the parade begins! In addition to our dinner menu, we're featuring our annual pre-order holiday charcuterie board and tableside s'mores. Please note, we cannot guarantee Alexandria will put on the boat parade. In the event of rain or severe weather, we reserve the right to cancel. If we cancel, you will be provided a gift card in the amount of your non-refundable table purchase.

Reserve a seat at Jula's private bar where expert mixologist, Joe Q., will provide a bespoke journey on how to craft two seasonally inspired cocktails, while sharing their histories and how to take that knowledge home for the holidays. This unique experience begins with a welcome punch and amuse bouche, followed by hands on crafting of two cocktails perfectly paired with small plates. Designed to elevate your home bar game, this course will cover history, technique, flavor-blending, and all the tools you'll need. Doors open at 5:30 pm and the class begins promptly at 6 pm. Guests are encouraged to make dinner or bar reservations if they would like to stay afterwards. This experience has extremely limited availability and is non-refundable.

We went for dinner on a Friday night with a reservation. It’s a great location and the server was very attentive. The food however was seriously disappointing. I ordered the “fresh catch” which was swordfish and it was far from fresh. It had definitely been frozen and likely for way too long. Worse, it was so overcooked that it was the consistency of drywall. I ate two bites and could not eat any more. I was offered a replacement but it was getting late and I didn’t feel like waiting. There are far too many good restaurants in old town, including with views and ambience to provide a favorable recommendation for Jula’s.

Food was excellent. Waiter was good and was working hard to keep up. Very loud (I would not call it energetic) hard to talk at the table. Drink service was very slow and one drink was not delivered. Servers delivering the food need training on how to deliver plates to the table-- was handed the plate of food. Will I return- yes.

Our group enjoyed our outdoor balcony seating as we watched the moon rise over the Potomac. This was an entirely relaxing and flavorful experience. The waitstaff was notably upbeat. The only downside is the challenge of leaving the parking garage. The sharp turn required to reach the exit pay station and gate is challenging for full size vehicles. It is hard to imagine how large SUVs / Pick-ups can exit.

Excellent restaurant. Wonderful staff! food is always good. The only small observation from my last dinner was that my pasta was not hot -just warm. I did not want to get the dinner timing off with our guests so I did not complain. It was not cold - it was warm

First of all, we loved the atmosphere and were having an amazing time. The food was exquisite. However, due to a religious reason, we cannot eat pork, and we communicated that to our server (Mike, I believe) as soon as we sat down. To my surprise, the scallops I received had pork on them. I was disappointed, but mistakes happen, so I sent the dish back since my religion forbids the consumption of pork. After waiting about 20 minutes with no food, while my friends had already finished eating, I lost my appetite and asked Mike to cancel the order, which he did. However, about five minutes later, the manager, Kyla, aggressively threw the plate in front of me and demanded, “What am I supposed to do with this?!” Feeling uncomfortable, I told her to just leave the plate, and I would pay for it, despite it being the restaurant’s fault that I had to return the food. My friends and I couldn’t believe how Kyle treated us so we asked our server to bring another manager, and Maria stepped in. She was helpful and even offered to remove the dish from the bill. Kyla needs to learn how to interact with customers, as her behavior over a $40 dish is the reason for this extremely negative review and undermined all the hard work the rest of the team had done. If I could give this restaurant less than 1 star based on Kyla’s actions alone, I would. Because the atmosphere was great and Maria handled the situation like a true manager, I am giving this 2 stars.
