"Judges restaurant and cocktail bar, formerly known as The Sun, is situated in the beautiful village of Northaw on the village green. This landmark Grade II listed building has, over many long months, been lovingly restored to its rightful glory. With a modern eclectic European and British menu, Carlos believes in sourcing local produce from artisan suppliers, where the provenance and quality of the foods are fully traceable. Whether you’re enjoying a glass of something sparkling under one of our chandeliers or having a scrumptious afternoon tea by the log fire, our bar and restaurant mix period features with modern day elegance, creating a memorable dining experience. Lovely outdoor area which was perfect for the sunny weather. Had a wonderful lunch for my mother in laws birthday. Nice atmosphere, great food and attentive staff. Well with a visit.

Good news - garden is lovely. Really nicely done out. Service very friendly but I had to ask for a Diet Coke three times. My roast beef from the Sunday lunch menu wasn’t very good quality, not a lot of it and not medium rare. Our local pub’s is far superior and £5 cheaper. £24 for this was not good value. Prawn cocktail starters were good if basic. Sea bass and roast chicken mains were much better but still felt overpriced. Desserts were very good. This is a nice spot but it’s charging premium prices and the food needs to be a notch better than it is to justify it. £65-70 a head including two bottles of wine between 4 and including service.

What a lovely find! Beautiful restaurant with lovely decor in a quaint country area. The service was really good. Really efficient and courteous. The food was fabulous. Lovely flavours and I was really full after starters and the main. Couldn’t do dessert. Only small downside are the prices, but aside from that a good experience all round

We always have a wonderful time at Judges. The staff are great, the food is delicious and Stephen the magician provided brilliant entertainment for us whilst we sipped our cocktails outside.

Lovely sunny lunch. Glad to be outside as decor inside restaurant really tacky which is a shame as food and service excellent

Well what can I say. Excellent food, service and staff lovely. Very friendly and lively. Only downside, we had a couple of elderly people in our party, a 100 year old who is still mobile but finds steps difficult and because of the different floor levels at Judges it was a bit difficult and no disabled parking. I would say anyone with mobility problems may find it a challenge, but apart from that it was a really lovely lunch. Thank you.
