This is a very special place! The food is delicious and the entire wait staff is great and professional. Menu options so specially created and novelty cocktails/wines to match. We have come here for years now and it never disappoints. Come as a neighborhood spot or a special occasion, super special for either. Can't wait to return!

Juanita and Maude is our new favorite restaurant!!! We were super excited to have dinner there to celebrate my birthday. Everything about it is so, so, so wonderful! We ate out in their lovely covered patio between 2 heat towers. The patio was completely full, including a birthday party of 11, but it was not overly loud. Service is top-notch! Oliver and Cisco were friendly, professional, informative, and totally on it with bringing and removing plates, etc., but never intrusive. The food is amazingly delicious, with good-sized portions that can be easily shared. You can see the extra attention that has been paid to the aesthetics of each and every plate. We had the Heirloom Tomato Tartine with a bacon jam, basil aioli, and super soft, toasted Focaccia bread. It was so good that we could not stop saying how good it was between mouthfuls of tartine. We also ordered the Little Gem Salad with pine nuts, currants, blue cheese, and basil. All of the ingredients were super fresh, the basil was a welcome addition, and the dressing was delightful. For the entrees, we had the Kingfish Red Coconut Curry which included the best piece of fish I have eaten all year and a delectable curry sauce. The Homemade Spinach Bucatini with parmesan cream, rock shrimp, and crispy potato breadcrumbs was equally scrumptious. For dessert, we had the Spiced Chocolate Cake and Mousse with sesame namalaka, pumpkin seeds, pineapple gelee and jam and the Pluot & Raspberry Rye Cake with lemon cream and an elderberry gastrique. They wrote "Happy Birthday" in chocolate on the plate and included a candle. They were the most beautiful and delightful desserts I have eaten all year. We also had 2 cocktails and a mocktail, all were fabulous and very pretty! Juanita and Maude definitely goes above and beyond to make their food both incredibly delicious and highly visually pleasing. I give them my highest recommendation! We definitely will be going back!

It was very nice, but quite expensive. The outdoor space was warm and comfy. The waitperson was adept and not overly obtrusive.

Food was expensive and not really worth the price. The pasta with chanterelles was so salty that it was impossible to taste the chanterelles. The moussaka was better, but not remarkable. The veggies that were on the side tasted of too much vinegar. The appetizer (shu mai) and dessert were markedly better. Not a restaurant I would return to.
