Such a lovely surprise that this place was black owned and participated in DineLA. Truly a top notch experience! Great food & big portion sizes!

Came for husband’s birthday. Our server, Crystal, was good - attentive & friendly, she even confirmed my allergy to shrimp and crab. The food runner that assisted (a young man, but didn’t catch his name) was very friendly & helpful as well. All the food we ordered seemed very promising, except for the caesar salad. The menu description included crunchy black eyed peas but when the plate came out, we noticed there were none. We brought to Crystal’s attention & she instantly checked with the chef. A few minutes later, she came back saying the chef said they were in the middle of a transition, removing that ingredient as he felt it didn’t go well with the dish. We feel this should have probably been communicated with the wait staff better. We told Crystal that was a bit disappointing as we felt that “crunch” the ingredient would have given would have made the dish better. She went back to the chef, came back to us again asking if prawns are also a no no which is weird for a chef to have to confirm that prawns are just much of an allergen as shrimp. She finally came back with a bowl of toasted pumpkin seeds. Hmmm.. ok. Anyway, all good. The rest of the meal was good - spicy fried catfish, collard greens & grilled octopus. Overall, pleasant enough experience.

Very nice experience for the first time definitely was a vibe. Food was good as well. Love the cornbread !! Would definitely recommend.

My daughter and I had an exceptional time at Joyce! Shoutout to Tony for being an amazing host. The food was enjoyable and the atmosphere was nice. Looking forward to our next visit.

Had a wonderful time celebrating my mother’s birthday at Joyce. The food was a 10/10 and the atmosphere was wonderful. I definitely recommend!!!

Pros: Ambiance, drinks, and the raw bar we enjoyed. However the restaurant was very noisy, but to be fair there were two LARGE parties. We did not enjoy any of the cooked food. The mac and cheese and catfish were unseasoned. The catfish was close to burnt. The cornbread was raw in the middle, as well as the peach cobbler dessert. Informed the waiter of the experience and she proceeded to ask me “where are you from?” Probably won’t return.

This was my 2nd time here but my first time coming for brunch. I had the breakfast smash burger with a side salad and it was delicious. The peach cobbler was simply amazing. Great food. Great service. I highly recommend!

Overall it was a great experience. Joyce is a cute date night restaurant with shareable serving portions. The staff was attentive and friendly and our server was great. The food presentation was visual pleasing. Unfortunately, the food lacked flavor. Overall the taste of the food was just okay.
