With a kitchen led by Michelin-award-winning Chef and co-owner Sammy Monsour (formerly of LA’s Preux & Proper), the menu centers around soulful Southern fare with an emphasis on sustainable seafood, offering an extensive raw bar program and selection of fine American caviars.

Complementing the bright flavors, Monsour adds rich, comforting depth with dishes like the Cornmeal Crusted Nashville Hot Catfish and Hickory Smoked Tomahawk Pork Chop. Beverage Director and co-owner, Kassady Wiggins designs a zero-landfill cocktail program that is well balanced and climate conscious. The drinks are the perfect blend of new and familiar, while bringing Southern flavors to each glass with cocktails like the Hootie Hoo and Mother of Pearl Martini.

Teaming up with Founders and Operators, Prince and Athena Riley, Joyce is named after their daughter and her grandmother. The restaurant embodies family, connection, and seeks to bring joy to guests through shared dining experiences.

    Chose restaurant for a birthday dinner since we liked Preux and Proper and wanted to try somewhere new. Drove an hour to get to restaurant. Were first guests in. Waiter did not come to our table until 20 minutes past seating. Over half our meal was served and we had to ask the runner where our drinks were and then the waiter said he couldn't find our wine selection. Runner and host were fine, waiter was not. Overall disappointing experience. Then we parked in the lot next to the restaurant and it cost us $40 to park. Wish the website had told us to park elsewhere. Probably won't be back. Food was good but not great and certainly not worth all the other trouble.

    First time visiting Joyce. The dishes were delicious and our server was knowledgeable. We are planning on returning sometime soon.

    The food was tatstey and the staff was incredible. I felt welcomed in by a very cheerful, helpful polished hostess. My only complaint was the noise level once the restaurant got busy I couldn’t hear my brunch mate sitting right next to me. I will definitely come back, it’ll just be on a less busy day if I bring a companion.

    We’ve been to Joyce 3 tims now in the last month and it never fails. From the hostess that greets us at the door to our waiters and servers, they’ve all been consistent. Our favorite is Lanaye who was very entertaining, attentive and gave us some really good tips on what to order. Food is bursting with flavor. Ousters are always fresh and their dessert the blueberry cobbler was a great way to end our meal. This I would say though, I hope as a restaurant that serves sou food, you can never run out of “Corn Bread” that will not make sense. And your corn bread is the best we’ve had. We will certainly come back and bring more people to enjoy this place.

    Being one of Eater Los Angele's 38 essential restaurants, we expected to be blown away by the food/beverages and service. Server wasn't familiar with my drink order, a Sazerac, which, being a coastal/southern restaurant you would think was something he would be familiar with, a Sazerac being the official drink of New Orleans. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were really good, the oysters a bit meh. Pork belly was pretty standard, nothing special. Mac and cheese was really good. The cauliflower was served cold, which was alright, but we were a bit surprised, because we expected it be served hot. Overall, a bit of a disappointment.

    So much thought and care went into the menu and the design of the restaurant. We had a perfect experience all thanks to our waiter Rob and host Drina!

    Joyce is a go-to. This was a birthday dinner for two of our group. The raw bar was a huge hit (four of our six had not been to Joyce before). So was everything else (cornbread, mac and cheese, crawfish, hush puppies, catfish, and more). The desserts were a huge hit. Of course, we will be back. It's a good-feeling place, and the professional staff know their business. You can lean on them for wine recommendations. The mixed drinks are uniformly good. And the staff from the hostess to the back line folks are terrific.
