José brings a fresh, modern take on regional Mexican cuisine to Dallas’ beloved Lovers/Inwood neighborhood. Inspired by the brilliant and fast-paced culinary scene in Jalisco, the restaurant captures the serendipitous connections created when culture, food, tequila and art merge into one experience. Jose’s vibrant story comes to life at every table through its chef-driven plates, craft cocktails, the ceramics crafted by its renowned namesake, José Noe Suro of Ceramica Suro and the hand-drawn mural adorning the walls with scenes of Guadalajara and Tequila, which was a collaboration between Suro and Dallas-based designer and artist Megan Reinhardt. More than a restaurant, José is a community with authentically innovative Mexican food at its heart. Helmed by award-winning Chef Anastacia Quiñones-Pittman, José’s culinary program is seasonal, inspired and ever evolving.

We went on our weekly date night and this place didn’t disappoint! We sat immediately after we arrived. We had reservations but on a Thursday evening, you could’ve easily walked in and got a table within a few mins or sat at the bar immediately. The food is really good when you crave something that has an authentic taste, drinks were creative and good and the value was what you should expect. The waitstaff was very friendly, attentive and explained the menu to us whenever we had questions. Their brunch is supposed to be even better so we’ll be back.

My husband went to Jose's for Sunday brunch at noon. It was quiet, and perhaps because of the holiday, it was relatively not crowded, though there were several families dining there. I didn't feel like having a boozy beverage, and so I opted for the cucumber mocktail, which was refreshing and not overly sweet. I had the carnitas with poblano hash and my husband had skirtsteak enchiladas with the most tender black beans I've ever tried. We will be back for sure.

we met friends for dinner and to catch up… From the beginning to the end, everything was perfect… Can’t wait to go back… I was wondering if you’ve changed the menu somewhat… I was there a year or so ago and there was a special was a shrimp special but I can’t remember exactly what it was. It was just absolutely wonderful and everyone at the table got the same thing… But our waiter told us last night that there are no more specials. It’s just whatever is on the menu… We still had a wonderful time

Jose is a very unique Mexican restaurant as it has a lot of non-typical yet delicious dishes and you can eat very healthy there too. We had the salmon and it was fabulous. The restaurant is spacious and great for larger groups and the service was excellent. The food was of highest quality. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend!

Surprised at the quality of food. Almost everything we ordered we were disappointed with, including cocktails. Would not recommend and will not be coming back. Ambiance was also subpar.

With fresh, innovative ingredients, the menu is a perfect balance of old and new. The service, ambience and total experience makes this a regular stop for us... but when birthdays come around, it's fun to celebrate those here, too.
