We're Jordyn's Soul Cafe, and we're an upscale soul food restaurant serving Chicago, IL, since 2022. There's no need to search for that perfect blend of soul food and fine dining because it's right here! We specialize in premium comfort food with a menu that includes everything from soul food classics to modern twists on those classics. Our owner created this restaurant to honor her late daughter and to serve Chicagoland areas delectable dishes inspired by her mother. Food came out quickly and it was nice and hot. Catfish was a little salty. Was not aware for now that it’s BYOB. But I would definitely go again.

The food was amazing. Everything we ordered from the Fried catfish, Fried chicken , asparagus was seasoning to perfection, the mac cheese, the cane yams delicious, Jerky chicken was spicy, collard greens delicious! Thank Jaythan for the excellent services, and helping out the birthday lady with a clothes mishap. He went into the kitchen to get a clean wet towel to get the sticky stuff off her clothes from the booth seat. This location is amazing with excellent chef. Thank you hyde Park staffs..

This was my second time dining here. The first time everything was wonderful. This time it took an extremely long time for the food and everything was overcooked like it was cooked and reheated. The broccolini was dried flat and the mac and cheese was dry. On our way out we looked at others meals and it appear fresh. I’m not sure why the food was inconsistent. The staff was really pleasant but I’ll pass on returning

Ox tail was little tough and not fall off the bone melt in your mouth type. Mac and cheese was good. Cabbage was good but tooooo much salt!

Food was great, vibe and music was great. It was a little crowded so service was kind of slow server kept checking on us to make sure we were good!

Booked around 10 o’clock for an 11 o’clock reservation it was last minute but stated on the website and google they close at 12 o’clock on Saturdays…When we got there it was a group of people walking out and a couple of people still in the inside…went to the desk waited for someone just for a young man to say they were close …he stated that they stop seating around 1030pm and kitchen closes at 11pm …I told him that I made a reservation and he looking like well okay we still closed did not even check the computer or anything for my reservation….This was not a good experience for me and I didn’t even get to try the food …I do not think that I will go back based off that experience…if you all close at 11 instead of 12 …the website and google should be updated!

When my daughter arrived at the time of our reservation, we were seated immediately. The waiter immediately came to our table. He made us feel at home. He quickly came back to our table to get our order. Our order was brought to the table in a decent amount of time. Our food was hot and the lamb chops was flavorful and tender. I will recommend this black owned restaurant even though it is in Hyde Park and the parking was a little difficult to find. I believe that it's worth the parking hassle.

The food was spectacular! 10/10. The air was broken, so it was very humid. I’m sure it’s not usually like that but it was just too humid inside. Overall amazing.

Has a 5:45 reservation we arrived early 5:30 and was informed that the air conditioner was not working however we decided to stay anyway, we were seated at a nice comfortable booth. We sat at the table until 6:00 and was not offered a single menu, glass of water, no silverware no nothing. There were two waiters on our side of the restaurant, neither one acknowledged us We decided to leave. I left feeling very disappointed and I will never patronize this place again
