We're Jordyn's Soul Cafe, and we're an upscale soul food restaurant serving Chicago, IL, since 2022. There's no need to search for that perfect blend of soul food and fine dining because it's right here! We specialize in premium comfort food with a menu that includes everything from soul food classics to modern twists on those classics. Our owner created this restaurant to honor her late daughter and to serve Chicagoland areas delectable dishes inspired by her mother. The wait was long but the food was good fresh and hot. Our waitress was excellent.

The service took forever because there was only one waitress for 20 tables. After being seated we waited at least 45 minutes before anyone came to take our order and then another 45 minutes to get the food. The help staff seemed confused and/or untrained. Our chicken was raw and there was NO MANAGER on duty to resolve the issue. We were still charged full gratuity. Our waitress was nice but overwhelmed. I will never return to this restaurant. It should be unlawful to not have a manager in the building during operating hours. Raw chicken is a very serious issue and it wasn’t handled properly!

We really tried to give this restaurant every benefit of the doubt but it was just a bad exoerience. It took a long time for the server to come to the table- it was not crowded, we ordered everything at once, appetizers came but we had no silverware nor napkins, when they brought utensils it was plastic plates and plastic forks. I don’t expect to be given plastic wear when a dish is from $30-$50 per plate. The food was average. We ordered 2 meals and 3 appetizers with no drinks of any kind and the bill was $170. There is an automatic 20% gratuity included. The server was really nice but completely inefficient. I hope others have a better experience but it was not good for us.

The restaurant was beautiful and our waitress was amazing considering the circumstances. With most of the upcoming black owned businesses they are severely overpriced. Not to mention the 20% mandatory gratuity for parties 2+. Some menu items they did not have such as banana pudding, coolaid, flavor lemonade drinks and more, in addition to not serving any alcohol that’s day but wanted you to pay $15-$25 for you to bring your own. The food was hot and the devil eggs and lamb was the best items we tasted. I ordered almost every side including fried green tomatoes and would rate the food 6-nothing special that would make me frequent this business again. For two, the bill was over $200 which is absurd! I would save my money if I was you.

This was my second time going to Jordan in two days. The dressing was delicious! When I went the first day, I had the short ribs, dressing, mashed potatoes, and corn. All of my food was good. The presentation left a lot to be desired. The short ribs were drowning in onion gravy, and it did not look appetizing at all, but it takes good. Then we came back and I had almost all of the size on the menu. The amount of sides was pretty fair. And again the food tasted good. And that’s all that I cared about when I went to a restaurant then I will be back every day. But the service was slow. The young lady was nice but not very attentive, we got our appetizers two minutes before we got our entrées. We ordered our food and we washed a table across from us get their food eat their food and leave before we ever got our appetizers, and we only ordered tacos. Then tacos came out it was. So we had to wait for more. Anytime we need anything we have to ask for until it was time to go, the bus was offering to help us. I felt like we were definitely overcharged for the cranberry sauce and gravy two dollars for a tablespoon of canned cranberry sauce is crazy. And two dollars for a tablespoon of gravy is also crazy. I will be much easier to digest if the prices for, the sides included the sauces or at least a heads up that we will be charged two dollars for a tablespoon of cranberry sauce. overall the food was good but what the price on this service to be a lot better.

The service was mediocre. I had to send back my turkey wings due to them being cold and tuff. They made it up with the grilled shrimp. Mac n cheese was great!

The service was horrible. It started off with the waitress bring me someone else’s appetizer. Next, no liquor wasn’t being sold and I was looking forward to their summer drinks. Finally, we waited 2 hours for our food and they brought me the wrong food. When I finally got my salmon it was over cook and the greens was somewhat cold. My friend and I went to the bar to get ice bc the waitress kept forgetting. The hostess was a dear she discounted me and kept apologizing for my experience. The waitress tried to argue with her about the discount and she handled it like a professional and took her to the back to talk. I came from out of town to support a new black business and I was disappointed.
