2nd time eating there and the food was superb! Would highly recommend. Dog friendly too

We had Sunday Lunch last weekend, and seriously was one of the best we've had at The Jolly.... roast beef all round ( 7 in our party... 2 babies who had bangers & mash) Lot's of tender Roast beef... roast potatoes were amazing but the vegetables... roasted carrots, parsnips and mixed cabbage with peas were cooked perfectly!! Highly recommend... Can't wait to go back. Well done Chef and young ladies serving were great and nothing was too much trouble.

Unfortunately we didn’t get to try the food. We were sitting at our table for 30 minutes and hadn’t even been offered a drink let alone had any meal order taken. We got up and left disappointed. The restaurant wasn’t even that busy although we overheard that they were expecting a large party to arrive to dine in the conservatory. Poor service!

We had a lovely evening, the food was delicious. Only one complaint, we went to order dessert once we finished our main meal at 9am, we were then told that the kitchen was closed and no desserts would be served. Very disappointing!! Someone could have come and warned us that this would happen and we would have ordered our dessert earlier. At 10oclock we were asked to move from the conservatory area as they were closing it! Couldn’t really understand what difference it made if we sat there to finish our drinks as we weren’t allowed any more food. Having said all of this, the young man who served us was lovely, very polite and friendly.

We ordered our meal including a child's meal. 1 hour later we were still waiting, when we inquired where our meal was we were told the manager had forgotten to put the order in. We were about to cancel when the order was delivered. The food was partially cold, dry and awful.. our little one was beyond eating it, she was so tired by this point. £93 for an Inedible meal. The poor lad serving was doing his best to cope with a busy bar, food orders and complaints.

Food was delicious and plenty of it. I especially enjoyed the wild mushroom suet pudding, which I was able to have as part of a Sunday lunch despite it not being stated as such on the menu. Would have given 5 stars if we hadn't had to wait so long to be given menus to begin with.

Young staff a bit slow and not very talkative, but landlady was nice and chatty. Great food at good prices. Fabulous views across the harbour, have booked a table for this weekend. Would recommend.

Booked last minute 6pm Saturday night so was not busy. Good food. Good value. On my doorstep. Amazing view over the water What's not to like

Lunch club excellent value. Lovely interior and great views to outside. Tasty food and lovely ambience. Second time here with a group and highly recommend
