Taking inspiration from Lisbon’s vibrant rooftop culture, JOIA Rooftop Bar offers guests sweeping views of London’s Grade II* listed Battersea Power Station and the city beyond whilst championing the best of British and Iberian produce, bringing Henrique Sá Pessoa’s modern take on Iberian flavours outdoors.

Signature dishes from JOIA restaurant, such as Octopus salad with red pepper, potato and smoked paprika and Tuna tartare with avocado and sea lettuce, alongside exclusive items for the rooftop, including the Cuttlefish Bun and Prego sandwiches. Guests can enjoy seasonal cocktails including the Aventurina, a gin-based cocktail with mint, cucumber and lime, and the Pimenta, made with tequila, agave and chilli. The drinks list also features a duo of refreshing slushies. A place to soak up the sunshine with great food and live music with headline acts and DJs on the weekends too.

This is a very cool bar with amazing views and close proximity to Battersea's power station. However it's I'd very expensive which I guess you'd expect. It takes ages to get a drink at the bar if you haven't got a table. The tapas food was reasonable but the fish tin is just a tin of sardines with a fancy label and dome raw veg. Service chaotic but willing. Overall it's worth it on a sunny day.

A very disappointing experience. We thought we'd booked a table in the restaurant but were told on arrival that we were actually booked in at the rooftop bar (the website booking system really isn't clear). Tapas were the only option on the menu. The service was very slow, and we kept having to remind staff about our order. The food was OK , but it definitely wasn't worth what we paid. It was also the first time I've had to put down a £50 deposit per person (£200 total) when booking a table, rather than it being placed as a hold on my credit card.

Overpriced, quality of the food was mediocre. The prego and bifana sandwiches at £17 each were the worst I’ve ever had, and I’ve had many (I’m Portuguese)…service was ok, but nothing special… drinks were ok, but overpriced. The rooftop terrace is ok, but again, nothing special… Having been to a few of Sà Pessoa’s restaurants in Portugal, I had high hopes for this place, but ultimately I’m disappointed…

Our booking was accepted and confirmed (which was a treat for my 78 year old mother's birthday), but when we arrived at the Art'otel hotel we were told that the restaurant/rooftop bar was not open on monday and tuesday's. We had paid for a taxi to take us to the restaurant and we were therefore very disappointed to learn on arrival that the restaurant was not open! A last minute decision had been made to close but OpenTable system did not inform customers with bookings! The staff at Tozi (the other restaurant in the Art'otel) were brilliant and found us a table and we had lunch there instead, however, i would chosen somewhere else had i known Joia was not open. The duty manager took my details and said he would pass this on to the Joia team to ensure that we were looked after when we rebooked - watch this space to see if that happens... I look forward to trying the restaurant when we rebook...

Very nice setting and general vibe with a DJ at the rooftop bar. I've read the earlier management responses apologising for poor service and their focus on training-up newbie staff but I'm afraid to say this is still very wide of the mark. Arriving on the 16th floor the member of staff who was placed where a hostess would be completely ignored us. We found a waiter who asked about our reservation, suggested that since the reservation was in my name the man with me would definitely be paying the bill. I know he was trying to be friendly so just lightly suggested he was on thin ice and should care. He then went off to another group and left us hanging. No table was reserved for us (no tables were reserved at all despite their very tight reservation requirement, other bars simply put timed reservation cards) but we found a suitable one ourselves before the waiter came back to us. Satisfied with that he ignored us again. After about 10 minutes we managed to another waiters eye and asked for a menu which he delivered. Just the one, not one each but we had about 20 mins before anyone came over to take our order so we all had plenty of time to read it, one at a time. We fetched our own napkins from the bar when our snacks arrived. We had drunk half of the wine before the ice bucket arrived to go with it. We went to the bar to sort the bill. They were about 6 staff on the floor, none with any sense of urgency. Many were simply hanging at the bar. We were not the only customers who spent more time trying to get served than relaxing. I'm afraid staff training has a long way to go. I understand that staff need training but surely this should be done before guests are even welcomed, and certainly before full prices are charged.

The service team on the roof top were very poor and seemed very uninterested in their jobs. Waited ages to order and same for getting are drinks. We weren’t asked if we wanted anything more. And had to go up to chase orders and the bill. Location and set you is amazing such a shame the team didn’t keep up their side of things.
