   We came in to celebrate my husband’s birthday and had Morgan as our server. She was professional and kind. As always, our meals were prepared exactly as specified and Morgan accommodated a special dessert request, topped with a birthday candle!

   Amazing experience this afternoon at Johnny’s! My husband, daughter and I arrived about 15 minutes before our 3pm reservation. We were seated promptly. We had a wonderful and attentive server and I’m sorry I don’t remember her name. She checked in often and I observed her giving the same great service to all the tables near us. The food was amazing and plentiful. We all left with to-go containers. We started off with the truffle fries as an appetizer. Delicious and a huge serving! My husband had the shrimp and crab pasta special and my daughter had the mushroom pasta. I had the burger. We all enjoyed our meals.

   Very disappointed. We have eaten here many times and have been pleased. We both ordered the Barramundi. Basically it's Seafood Risotto. This dish is a reason to Johnny's. Over the years we have ordered it at least ten times. Usually you receive at least 3 full scallops, 3 shrimp and three clams in the risotto but not this time. I had 2 scallop bits, 1 shrimp and three clams. My wife's Barramundi was equally disappointing. We split a salad that consisted of greens, a few cherry tomatoes and a few slices of cucumber. We were seated at 7:30 so this wasn't an 'end of the evening the kitchen is out of everything" experience. Johnny's is one of the pricier restaurants in the area ($20 for a burger and fries) . We have mostly enjoyed our experiences dining at Johnny's in the past. We have noticed that when the Bean Restaurant Group takes ownership of area restaurants the quantity goes down while the prices go up. Johnny's was much better when the Yee family owned it.

   Unique cocktail options. Calamari was cooked to perfection. Beet salad was an unusual offering, but very good. My husband’s steak was truly med-rare, & seared just right on the outside. My mushroom pasta was creamy & delicious. Everything was just perfect. Great choice to celebrate our anniversary.

   We had the pork potstickers for an app and was really good. I had the roasted chicken, hubby had rigatoni and son has spaghetti bolognese. Everything was good. Best part was the bread with dipping oil. So yummy.

   Another great night at Johnny's! Justina was our server and it was great to catch up with her after not having her for a while. As always, she was friendly, kind, and professional. Our meals were prepared exactly as specified: simple salad with salmon. We also love the bread with sundried tomato olive oil.

   Johnny's Tavern is an absolute gem in Amherst! It's very popular and with good reason. The food is amazing, the staff are warm and welcoming, and I appreciate the casual, unstuffy, friendly vibe. We had a large group celebrating a special reunion this evening (we all worked together on a show), and we had a wonderful experience at dinner. I'd highly recommend a visit to Johnny's Tavern when in Amherst.
