From the classic Italian music to the candlelit tables, the nostalgic atmosphere at Johnny Costa’s Ristorante feels like traveling back to midcentury times. It’s no wonder Frank Sinatra was once a regular at this fine Italian restaurant, which has been honored by Palm Springs Life as best Italian restaurant for 10 consecutive years. The Costa family continues the legacy of late chef-owner Johnny Costa, who was pals with Sinatra when he moved to Hollywood from New York in the 1960s, and a decade later served as the singer’s personal chef at his desert home. Costa’s pedigree lives on in his legendary recipes, including his classic cioppino. Open for dinner at 5 p.m. Closed Sunday & Monday

                                                                                      This is a very traditional "red sauce" Italian restaurant. The food is terrific. I had the veal saltimbocca and my husband had the veal parmesan. Both were delicious. We plan to add this to our regular rotation of restaurants in the area when we return next year. Our server and the "bus boy" were so warm and friendly. They really made this a wonderful experience.

Great traditional Italian cuisine, wonderful steaks, excellent crisp salads and unusually value-priced extensive wine list. Veggie options were excellent. Server Jacob was on his game. Always a winner. 😎👍💪🙏

                                                                                      Consistently outstanding! This is one of the “must visit” restaurants during our annual Palm Springs vacation. Based on many previous dinners, the bar is set pretty high. And yet somehow we always leave with the bar having been moved a little higher. Excellent!

                                                                                      food was lovely … server was charming .. the pacing was a bit off and, for a moment, i felt like they were rushing to “flip” the table. not sure if that was the intent, but it felt a bit rushed on the front end. overall good, though!

                                                                                      We were a party of 5 and everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. This is a place that we will frequent whenever we are in the area. The veal dishes were all excellent and the Linguine with clams was outstanding. The waitress suggested a slightly spicy sauce for the pasta and it was a winner. Some of has had the "Italian Job" after dinner drink and that also was outstanding. Would highly recommend Johnny Costas to anyone that enjoys Italian cuisine.
