Johnnie’s Jazz Bar & Grille is dedicated to Johnnie Genevieve (Miller) Bills, a piano player for the silent movies at the very first B&B Theatres in 1924. Johnnie’s original piano has been restored and is sitting on our stage.

two of the four people at our table had a terrible meal one center dinner back to be redone the other eighth or burger, but said it was awful. I had a drink that was terrible. It tasted like a mix straight out of a bottle. The ambience is nice. The service was a nice waitress, but she was not very good. At least she seemed under trained.

Where do I start. First I want to start by saying I’ve been to Johnnie’s before and had a wonderful experience. This time was extremely disappointing. I booked reservations for the lounge premium seating back in December for Valentines Day. There were six of us going, all family and we were looking forward to this night. About the middle of January I got an email saying that they were going to make it a Valentine’s Day meal for $85 per person. Well we had reservations for another restaurant so I called them and asked them if we could just order drinks and no food. The lady said yes. Well, I wanted to make sure so I went there and spoke with a “manager” and made sure that we could just order drinks and not food. She said yes we wouldn’t be able to order any appetizers or any other food because they had a specific meal planned for that night. She even showed me where are seats were. THREE hours before our reservation they called me and said we couldn’t sit in the premium lounge and had to sit at the bar because we weren’t eating there. I explained to them that I had confirmed that it was fine and they said “ I’m sorry there’s nothing I could do”. Again this is three hours before our reservation so the odds of us getting a reservation anywhere else would be impossible. I got confirmation the day before saying we were all set. My husband and son took the night off work to enjoy the band that was playing that night. It was just such bad business.

The environment is a little odd being in the open adjacent to the movie theater, but we enjoyed the lounge seating right in front of the band. We ordered a full dinner that was delicious, but difficult to eat on the table in front of our sofa. Next time we will get a high top table if we plan to eat a full dinner. The band was very good and the staff attentive. We will definitely return to listen to a band and have drinks.

Jazz @ Johnnie's is the highlight of our week! Saturday was no exception. Our server, Sydney, was a delight. Efficient, friendly, just the perfect amount of attention. The music was amazing. The kitchen was a bit off, which is def unusual for them.
