Joey's top sirloin steak had a spicy rub on it. Too spicy for me.

Wine by the glass options weren't great (not the best tasting wine). Steak Frites steak wasn't really tender and was really expensive. Dessert was amazing. Service was amazing. Ambience was hit or miss - someone really loud was sitting next to us so nothing anyone could do about that but overall like the atmosphere here. Overall, really expensive for generally mediocre food.

JOEY Manhattan Beach is a gem! We were welcomed at the door of the restaurant and seated right away for our reservation. Our service was excellent, and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, making spot-on recommendations. The drinks were creative and refreshing, and the meals were delicious. We will definitely be back!

The food was excellent, especially the sushi and steak—fresh and perfectly cooked! The ambiance was lively yet relaxed, ideal for dinner with friends or a business meeting. Both drinks and food arrived promptly, and our server was attentive and friendly. It was a colleague's birthday, and the server made sure they felt special, which made the whole experience stand out.

Joey is one of my favorite restaurants when I want to have a dependably great meal, a nice atmosphere, not overly noisy but enough of a buzz to feel like its lively, great service and I love the complimentary champagne on the way in. I’ve been there a number of times and at several different locations, although Manhattan Beach is my “go to”. I have a number of dishes that I really like, especially the Katsu Chicken Salad, the lettuce wraps, the Mini steak french dips, the Korean fried cauliflower… Although I haven’t ordered it recently, I had the best steak frite I’ve ever had (including France) at this location a couple of years ago. We will certainly be back.

Just 3 weeks in, our server Vivian was outstanding! She was so personable and very attentive to my family who was out aunt’s 100th birthday.

It was too loud, service was slow, food was OK and over priced and everything took too long.

Food was great as usual but service was slow. We had a reservation and wasn’t seated until 30 min after that time. Food took a long time to arrive.

When you let the restaurant know that you’re coming for a special occasion, you hope that it feels a little more special than a regular dinner. My husband and I came in for not only our anniversary but also my husband’s retirement which happened on the same week and the restaurant could not care less. My only request was a good table which was overlooked. Once we sat, someone hurriedly came by to ask for our drinks and appetizers. We put some orders in, but our drinks never came. Our apps came out and the food was tasty. But we still didn’t know our server and no one came by to ask for our entrees. When I finally tracked down a manager to ask about our server, he said he would turn the service around. So we put in our dinner order but then our entrees came out separately. My husband had his food 10 min before mine. That’s never happened at a fine dining restaurant. We just felt like the forgotten table. So while the food was good, the service was surprisingly comically bad. Maybe I wouldn’t care on any other day, but like I said I was hoping for a nice experience on a special occasion.
