Our favorite place to eat in Ottawa! We were at Joey's for a birthday celebration on 9/28. As usual, it was an outstanding experience. The only issue was one of the meals came 10 minutes behind the other 2

I have wrote maybe 3 reviews in my life. I ate at Joey Rideau a few weeks ago and it was amazing service. First time at Joey Landsdowne and it started with not getting spoken to for about 30 minutes and when a person in our 7 person table tried to make contact with a waitress, she gave him attitude asking him “are you ok.” When he told her we were ready to order drinks she told us she wasn’t are waitress and passed it along to one of the 6 or 7 managers standing around. After a conference they sent over a waiter who seemed to already have a big section who was a nice guy and told us “nobody knows where our waitress is.” He ended up taking on our table however 2 drinks of 7 came out in about 10 minutes then appys, then about 10 more minutes the rest of the drinks came. It seemed like we were the table nobody wanted, as we had to flag him down in passing and we were lucky to get one more drink, he was not to be seen again tell our bill. I am familiar with how Joey team service is suppose to go, empty plates and empty drinks sat while empty hands walked by and the poor waiter who was over run was the only one cleaning up our table. The 6-7 manager stood around and chatted with their friends as if they were too good to touch dishes or take orders. I wish I was heartless and could hit a no tip button but that just screws over our waiter and the managers still there cut. Horribly run Joey

Closer to the end of our dinner, our server asked us if we wanted another round, and we said yes. After the drinks arrived, she came back and asked if we needed anything else, and we said no, we could settle up when it was convenient for her. Given we just received our drinks we weren't in a rush. Shortly after we settled (and provided good tips), a hostess came to our table and told us we had four minutes to leave as there was another reservation. Our server never mentioned this, and should not have sold us more if we were on the clock. Whar was worse, there were more than a handful of free tables around, and we walked out at 9pm on a Wed, so I'm sure they would have been able to accommodate their other customers. Very unfortunate finish to a nice evening.
