Joe’s Crab Shack offers a variety of favorites from all parts of the sea and shore. From its extensive menu, guests can choose from buckets of seasonal seafood, fried shrimp platters and fish dishes, as well as options from the “mainland” that include steak, sandwiches, and chicken. Guests can indulge in over-sized and creative cocktails, such as the Shark Bite which is playfully garnished with a shark toy. Since its inception, Joe’s popularity has stemmed not only from its menu, but also its retail store. With various pieces of merchandise for purchase, including the ever-popular tie-dye T-shirt with the phrase “Peace, Love and Crabs,” Joe’s has become synonymous with the word “fun.”

We made reservations in advance as a party of 7 and were seated immediately when we arrived. But after being seated it took a long time for the waitress to even come get our drink order. The food is way overpriced, and yes I know seafood isn't cheap, but the portions were slim. I ordered a crab bucket and there was maybe 4 halves of potatos total. For an expensive bucket I expected more. Half of our party did not enjoy their food at all. For the price we paid, we definitely expected better food and faster service.

We had a total of 7 at our table, family of 5 on one check, family of 2 on the other check. I was always tip 20% or more depending on the level of service. I’m a good tipper. When I was told my check (for 2) already included an 18% tip, this upset me and I certainly didn’t add more tip. I didn’t say anything as my wife doesn’t like confrontation but I won’t be back to Joe’s Crab Shack. I like to be generous, not somebody be generous for me.

I had the peach bourbon salmon with tempura shrimp and my companion had the shrimp sampler. Both meals were well prepared and were delicious. Robert was our server and took excellent care of us.

Made reservation and was seated on time. Our waiter was great but it took almost an hour to get food. My coconut shrimp was crispy on the outside but the shrimp was mushy inside. Only ate 2 and couldn't finish. It was so loud in there we couldn't talk.

Server was excellent. Salad with shrimp…shrimp way overcooked or simply reheated and old. Crab boils…really good. East coast sampler….so so. Back. Wrapped shrimp were old, mushy, and not hot. Great location, lots to see and do after we ate along the Landing. Joes…5 out of 10. Some good, some opportunities. It closed in Omaha for about the same reason in regards to food quality and inconsistency. You can do this, just need better oversight and leadership!

3 of 7 orders wrong, one meal not delivered for a several minutes after others but beat the silverware to the table. Steamers were overcooked so shrimp, crab and lobster were very tough. No seasoning added to one, was brought out on the side. Daughters entree was missing half the items in the plate. Got a double dip but just enough chips for one. Waitress was very nice but over worked. Was hard to get her. When we asked someone for silverware instead of grabbing some they just told her and she was busy. They make servers do dances which just puts them behind serving others. Prices have skyrocketed. I’m ok paying for good food but the steamers were so overcooked it wasn’t enjoyable. The fried food was over cooked and the salmon was served plan, nothing in it. The pasta dishes were the only thing ok. We have gone to this location for years but will be hard pressed to return or recommend it to anyone again. $350 for 7 people, no adult drinks.
