Join Susan Harper in 5-week wine courses, comprising of 5 modules. Absorb interesting facts and expert knowledge while tasting wines relevant to the subject. This course is for beginners to experts alike, as knowledgeis for everyone. Theres plenty to learn whether you join 1 session or all 5! For every concept that we discuss, we will taste a wine that will showcase the theory…no question is a bad question unless not asked! The aim of this course is to demystify wines and answer any unanswered question, whilst giving you some fun, intelligent facts about wine that will silence any wine boars…a chance to learn the fun common-sense facts about wine in a friendly fun environment. There will be a wine pack for each class for you to take away and a chance the following week to ask any further questions you might have thought about. There will be plenty of wine flowing at each session to test the theories, and each class will last 1.5 hours. Session 4 - The Spectrum of Wine The spectrum of wine is from light to heavy – its fruit, tannin and acidity that make up the profile of a wine. We will also look at sweet wine affected by botrytis to Ripasso and Ice Wine methods. What do you need to know about tasting a wine – how to taste and what to look out for corked wine and other defects. Thinking wines and drinking wines – wines for all occasions.
