JJ’s Restaurant is a Vancouver institution. Both the kitchen and front of house are run by students who are in their 2nd level of cook training. Enjoy a three-course a la carte lunch which is reasonably priced and produced with the highest level of passion and care by students with the guidance of their Chef Instructors. If you are interested in a group booking please email culinaryarts@vcc.ca.

Please note that JJ’s and Chef’s Table service may be interrupted by inclement weather, including extreme heat or significant snowfalls. VCC makes this precaution to keep the staff and customers safe. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

The Chef's Table dinners, are one of Vancouver's best-kept secrets! Enjoy a gourmet five-course meal designed by Chef Hamid Salimian with optional selected wine pairings, served in a unique group setting with only 10 seats available per night. The Chef's Table dinners are run by students, led by award winning instructors in Vancouver Community College's International Culinary Arts Program. Thank you for supporting VCC students-gratuities help the VCC Foundation create awards and bursaries. Dietary restrictions and preferences may be accommodated with at least 24 hrs notice. I went to JJ’s with two co-workers for lunch today and it was fabulous. The service was great and the food amazing. I would highly recommend putting this on your dine out list. It was great to see young people so interested in what they’re learning and the level of professionalism was noticed. Kudos to the teaching staff. All around great experience.

As always, food and service were great, but higher cost of food ingredients has hit JJs hard, so not only has the price of the set lunch increased twice in the last two years, from $30 to $35 and, lately, to $40, the portions have also been significantly reduced. For example, the size of the Steelhead trout that I dined on three days ago was less than half the size of the same menu item that I ordered the 3-4 times I was there in the last two to three years. Still and all, a most pleasant dining experience.

My mother, elder sister and me visited JJ for the Luna New Year celebration. The servers' service are excellent, they do care us a lot. We've ordered 2 x Pork Wellington and 1 x Steelhead trout Risotto, we enjoyed the pork wellington a lot except the trout, too many bones found in the fish. We did share with one of the servers and the gentleman (believe he is one of the teachers there) did apologize and would like us to accept the fish dish situation. Since JJ is the fine dining restaurant, we are all surprised that they don't change the fish dish to us.

This is my second time dining at JJ's cafe, it is always excellent. Everything was amazing. I recommend it to my friends.

We went there to celebrate a birthday. It is so nice to go to a place and be able to chat and hear one another. The food and presentation was fantastic.
