Jimoto is a locally owned and operated upscale casual American Sushi Restaurant located in downtown Winnetka. "Jimoto" is a Japanese term that can be translated as "local" or "hometown." In Japanese culture, "jimoto" often signifies a deep-rooted loyalty and support for the community, as well as a recognition of the local traditions, customs, and values. We aim to capture that essence when you visit us for a date night or just to satisfy your sushi craving! Had dinner 4 times there now. The first experience - the food and service was great. Since then, the food and service experience has deteriorated. By the third visit our order was incorrect - but service wasn't great so we lived with it, no big deal as it was still good. We arrived before busy time - lots of tables reserved but not a lot of people dinning yet. This last time food wasn’t great and service was bad too. Early dinner midweek, not busy. Maybe we will try take out in the future but unlikely to dine in.

Everything from the drinks to the appetizers to the sushi rolls to the dessert was delicious! The restaurant has a casual yet upscale feel. We will definitely be back!

Fresh fish, but small pieces. More rice and fillings than fish. Nice neighborhood spot.

Great night at Jimoto. The service was great. The food arrived super quickly. Would thoroughly recommend for a night out.

Amazing food and atmosphere! Best sushi in the area! Drinks are amazing too. Truly great quality!

Some of the best sushi that we've found in the north suburbs of Chicago. The ambience is fantastic and the staff were very kind. Would highly recommend!
