Beautiful decorated modern restaurant, gorgeous private room for a larger party who want a bit of privacy. Food was excellent quality and service from the staff was second to none. All round a very nice experience from start to finish.

JD youngs has been a firm favourite for a long time and we regularly visit here. I have to say after my last visit this weekend it wouldn’t make me rush back. There is a seriously scaled back menu compared with previous times which in general isn’t awe inspiring. I had the southern fried chicken burger and the burger was extremely soggy and not crispy at all which you would expect. It was extremely greasy which made the whole burger just wet. The food took a long time, and whilst in the most part the service was okay a simple request was refused which made the dining experience awkward for 1/2 of our table. Overall very underwhelmed compared with previous visits and will think twice before visiting again.

I booked online and that worked well. We stood at the bar just before 12 for some time and we were ignored. We moved round to the restaurant area and were served but we had to initiate the order. After that things went well. Food order was taken and delivered as well as wine beautifully chilled. Food was good and attentive to the fish allergy at our table. We will come back but the bar service wasn't good. They were clearly stocktaking but there was no acknowledgement of our presence or direction to another bar.

We were looking for something a little different to the pub classics which seem to predominate this area. JD Young hit the spot in a very comfortable and coming environment. The food was very good indeed with very large portions e kept notably the fish dish which I and my other had. Sadly I've seen more fish on an economy fish finger. Whilst very tasty, the meagre portion of fish brought the 5 stars down to 4 unfortunately
