We had a most enjoyable stay at J D Young Hotel. Our room was lovely and clean, very nice decor, my taste to a tee, which was great. The staff were very welcoming and polite, which is always nice. The food was exceptional, very well presented, and the restaurant’s decor was outstanding, which set the scene for a wonderful evening shared with friends. We will be back to stay as often as possible.

A thoroughly lovely evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Booking was easy .. online; the staff were welcoming; and decor and table service were really excellent. Our waitress was Libby, who was attentive without being overly so .. and looked after us like Lord and Lady. The menu was great. The food was beautifully presented and in perfect quantity. It was one of the best meals out that we’ve had. I had the Lamb shank shepherd’s pie (a great twist of the classic!) and my wife had the chicken and bacon with dauphinois potatoes. The vegetables were superbly cooked .. al dente, which is perfect! The drinks were also lovely. Thank you JDY … and especially Libby, for making our anniversary meal so wonderful.
