My husband and I went for our anniversary. We made a reservation and it asked if we were celebrating anything, so I checked "anniversary". We arrived early and let them know we were ok waiting if needed, but we were seated right away. Our server was friendly, but absent - very absent. She came to our table 3 times maybe but a table a few down from ours she was at quite a bit. I ordered a filet mignon cooked Medium, it came out cooked way passed well done. After a few minutes, I was able to flag down a manager, he was apologetic and advised he would get a new steak going as it had definitely been over cooked. By the time my replacement steak came out, my husband had finished eating. The replacement steak was more of a rare to medium rare - which is fine, the manager did ask if he needed to have them put it on the grill a bit longer, but I declined. Our server came back to the table a bit after, no mention of the steak being cooked incorrectly, just a "all good here?". Our sides were mediocre at best. I got garlic whipped potatoes - they tasted like they came straight out of a box. I also got the cinnamon apples thinking they would be similar to ones I had at other restaurants, fresh and really quite good - mistake on my part - they were like pie filling heated up. We should have stopped there but the pumpkin cheesecake sounded delicious - it wasn't. It had a gritty texture and in all honesty, the Olive Garden's pumpkin cheesecake is 10x better, which says A LOT. Oh, we did have the crab dip as an appetizer and that was the only thing that was really worthwhile. The steaks were good, but nothing you can't get anywhere else. Our server showed one more time to collect payment and that was it. Why ask what we are celebrating if it isn't even going to be acknowledged? Overall it was a waste of an anniversary dinner and really disappointing.

It is very clear that we completely dropped the ball here & our goal is to always fix any problem that a guest may have had & it clearly didn't happen here. Top notch restaurant. Everyone was doing their jobs and hustling. Managers were in constant view and walking through the restaurant to keep it running efficiently. They were turning tables consistently. Our glasses never got empty, food was brought out in less than 10 minutes. Everything was flavorful

This was our first visit to J.B. Dawson's, but it definitely won't be our last! The prime rib was very tasty, as was the parmesan-crusted chicken and even the (massive portion of ) chicken fingers. The garlic mashed potatoes were a favorite of all who tried them. We opted out of appetizers hoping to "save room" for dessert, and that was delicious as well! We were looking for a place with a good number of menu choices, but especially a venue where we could actually have a conversation while dining on a Saturday evening. With the exception of a slightly loud birthday celebration in the booth behind us, Dawson's checked off all the boxes. Menu prices were a good value, as we ALL left with at least enough food left over for lunch or dinner the following day. Service was also excellent, and we were seated within less than 5 minutes of arrival with our OpenTable reservation.

All around an excellent experience - food, ambience, service, menu choices. Just need the lights a bit brighter. Our eyes are not what they used to be. The service model by which any service will help you is a nice touch and much appreciated.

You made my wife’s birthday special, waiter recommended the Thai steak noodle salad, which was wonderful. It should be on the menu all year..

Tried a special (lettuce wraps) that was pretty sodium forward. Bruschetta chicken is a staple and may have been a touch heavy on the garlic in the prep. Service was attentive and we were seated quickly for a weekend.
