Food was okay, not worth what we paid with additional 20% up charge to pay their employees (not server) you still have the 20% tip on top of that . So that's basically 40% in addition to the cost of the meal... so be prepared! Server wasn't pleasant and was demanding drink order. We weren't exactly ready , and he made the whole interaction extremely awkward. Then refused to serve one of our party after pulling me aside and asking if the member was drunk. I told him no, but he didn't seem to like the interaction ( which he caused in the first place) and refused to serve him anyway. IT WAS NYE! People are trying to have a good time and no one in our party was drunk!! We all respectfully respected his decision and the rest of the night was awkward to me, and he never realized his mistake and offered to serve this person. I for sure won't be going back...

Thank you for your feedback. I apologize that you were misinformed about the Service Charge. As stated on our website, our menu, on the front door and again when we drop the check we do apply a 20% Service Charge to all checks. As operating costs associated with small business operations continue to rise, we include a 20% service charge to your bill. If you would like this removed, we are happy to do so. Thank you for your support and understanding. Any tip on top of that is appreciated but never expected. We take liquor enforcement seriously, apologies that we couldn't serve a member in your group. The quality of service erased any hiccups on the busy NYE night. We were fine waiting past our reservation time as the bartender took good care of us and the host communicated timely updates. The food- as always- was outstanding.

Service was extremely slow. Wait staff needed to be reminded that there were drink orders that hadn’t come. The time between ordering and receiving our meal was long, so make sure you place a double drink order immediately and be prepared to WAIT. Peel and eat shrimp was farmed shrimp, and in bad need of de-veining. Gross. Oysters were meh. Deviled eggs were good but you only get three…so make two orders if you’re with other people. It was so loud in the restaurant we had to shout to hear one another. They also tack on a 20% service fee, so make sure you see that before adding an additional percentage for your waiters tip.

We attended an event at Boettcher Concert Hall at 6:30 pm, and decided to take advantage of the Happy Hour and have dinner beforehand. The CrackerJax Oysters on the half shell were excellent, as was the Fried New England Calamari with an exceptional dipping sauce. The quality food continued with our main courses. My wife had the Pan Seared Australian Barramundi, and I had the Blue Crab Cacio e Pepe; both dishes were outstanding. Eddie, our server, was very personable and attentive to all our needs, as was the general manager who checked on us three times during the evening.

Absolutely loved happy hour! The caviar was seasoned perfectly, the house oysters were delicious, the lobster deviled eggs, perfection. Brian can draw a mean SpongeBob

From the front of the house, to the back, everyone was connected to the experience. Very attentive and the food was DELICIOUS. The brussel sprouts were fresh and prepared well, the bacon fat cornbread so flavorful. I had the seared peppercorn tuna and it was memorable. Alex, our waiter , was incredibly personable and gave excellent feedback on the food options. Definitely would be a regular if I lived close!! Thank you all, for making this my favorite food experience in Denver!

The food was delicious. Tried the gumbo, hush puppies, calamari, tuna and cat fish; all very tasty. Atmosphere was decent. Serve was okay had to ask for a refill on drinks and took a bit to get.

Jax never disappoints. I’ve been coming here since 1992 when I started a business across the street on Wazee—and the street was much grittier! Today, Jax is my go-to for oysters and seafood of all kinds. Last night I had the Blue Crab Cacio e Pepe and it was simply sumptuous! Creamy and rich, with plenty of crab, and a light dusting of fine brown butter crumbs to add a light note of texture. My friend had the scallops and they were equally top-notch. Perfectly seared outside and delicate inside, with just a hint of citrus that let the full scallop taste shine through. Since it was my friend‘s birthday, we topped off the dinner with the Brulé Keylime tart. Another home run, with rich, custardy Keylime flavor, a solid graham cracker crust that didn’t overwhelm. My only comment would be that I would’ve liked a slightly thicker, harder crunch on the Brulé. Overall, a fantastic evening. Jax has a great vibe, and even the soundtrack music was a joy.
