There were 3 of us for dinner. We started with Calamari and a shrimp cocktail. The Calamari was over cooked, bummer and the Aioli was lacking any flavor. The shrimp cocktail was very good and we enjoyed the horseradish in the center. I had the gumbo. it was very good as usual, my brother really like the seafood chowder. The hushpuppies were awesome and likely the best we have had. My wife had a salad and it was ok, a bit much on the dressing but it was still good. The coconut -chocolate cake was extremely disappointing all the way around. We'll be back, just not for dessert.

We returned to Jax Fishhouse in Glendale for the Happy Hour to celebrate my Birthday. When we arrived, we were led to our table with HAPPY BIRTHDAY! colored in crayon on our paper table cover! What a Nice touch! Tyler, the Manager, Greeter, and 'He Who Makes Everything Comfortable and RIGHT (let's try, 'The Fixer!' as his Title), came over and welcomed us warmly with a hand shake and a hug for my 'indispensable other' and me! Alexandria and Brittany greeted us and wished me Happy Birthday, and our trusted guide (Kemosabe) , Ryan was already making us our Favorite Old Fashioned, as only he makes them! We felt like we were coming HOME! As part of their Happy Hour, Jax had a wonderful musician, Solomon, serenading us with interesting, alluring, vaguely familiar, yet exotic riffs on his keyboard that eventually morphed into songs we suddenly recognized from our past! MoTown, Rock, and other familiar tunes were delivered in Solomon's unique, virtuoso Style! We danced by our table to a Beatles song that captured us; and probably would have danced some more if we were't deeply involved in our delicious, exotic, yet comfortingly familiar tastes of oysters, Orange Roughy and a lovely Vegetarian dish that we Shared together as we sipped our smooth Old Fashioneds. We were so HAPPY at Jax's Happy Hour that we made a date to return next weekend for more dining (and dancing?) among, what feels like Family!

I stayed across the way in a hotel for 3 nights, so I went for dinner here 3 nights in a row and the food each night was delicious! I had a different incredible server each night, Caroline, Natasha and Heidi. They were so welcoming and warm and made the experience even better!

Excellent oysters and fish chowder.Calamari was a 7/10 but tasty. Rafi our server and Tyler the night manager were great in describing all the dishes.Would recommend!

It was easy to make a reservation, and we asked for a table. Parking was acceptable, and we got a good spot. We were seated almost immediately, and we were happy that Halibut was still on the menu. I tried the Gumbo, which was very good, and we split an order of Halibut which was excellent. We shared a desert with an odd name, but it was basically banana pudding, and it also was also excellent. Our waiter, Rafi, was quite good, and looked after us very well. It was a very enjoyable meal.

Made a reservation for roof top and it was closed. They wouldn’t accommodate us at a table inside or outside even though the rooftop was closed and plenty of tables were open.
