Date night with my wife and we had a good time. The food was good and our server did good. Ambience was a little too loud for us but other than that we had a good time.

On Tuesday of last week, I "reserved" a table at Javi's for a date night for 7:30pm on Friday, 10/18/24 on Open Table. I received a text message stating my table was reserved, with the date and time. Upon arrival at the restaurant, my husband and I were informed the restaurant does not take reservations from Open Table and reservations to their restaurant must be made at least 3 days in advance. I informed staff the restaurant is on Open Table with the option to reserve and staff simply dismissed this as if it wasn't the first time this had happened. We added our names to a list for a table in the main dining room as walk-ins. Fortunately, our wait was short, and we got a table within 10 minutes. If an establishment does not allow or intend to honor reservations on Open Table, it should take issue with the fact that diners are being misled by this and should take the necessary steps to correct this.

All in all it was a very good experience. Had a little trouble with a couple of dishes. but manager made a small adjustment in ticket to compensate. Service was great.

If you visit Tyler, Texas, do yourself a favor and eat at Javi’s. We had top notch service all the way around. Great food, friendly service and sitting on the patio overlooking the water was so relaxing and fun. Ask Steve and Travis.

Javis never disappoints. I took my friend there for her birthday and she said it was the “best birthday dinner ever!”

Even though I made reservations ahead of time we still had to wait over 30 minutes for a table which I feel is unacceptable. What is the purpose for reservations if you are still made to wait? This is the second time I have experienced this. I go to Javi’s for the atmosphere and ambience however, I don’t think I will be back with a large party because this is absolutely inconvenient and inconsiderate.

First time visit to Javis restaurant. We dined outdoors with the view of the water and fountain. Our server was prompt and attentive to our table (Barrett). We started out with delicious appetizers of beef brisket soft tacos. The mango salsa was amazing. We ordered guacamole and a chicken quesadilla. The entrees were great as well but we were so full most went home. Somehow we all shared one dessert of Churros. They’re served with Carmel in the middle and fresh fruit on top. We all enjoyed them. We will be back and hopefully have our same server again.

Very disappointed in our overall experience. We ate there on a Tuesday night. We sat outside, as requested, but waited over 20 minutes without any acknowledgement from wait staff. We finally flagged a waiter down and asked if we were part of his responsibility. He said he did not know, would see if he could find somebody, then ultimately came back to us saying he would just serve us. He never introduced himself to us. Our first batch of chips were stale, our first round of margaritas tasted watered down, one dish was cool in temperature, and they were out of shrimp for one dish requested. And we had to ask for water. When I made reservations online, there was a dropdown asking if there was a special occasion. We were celebrating a birthday and this was indicated. This was never acknowledged during our time there. Why ask this question then, if not going to help make the occasion special. We have heard that the service is very inconsistent at Javi's. We will not be returning. There are too many wonderful restaurants to choose from.

Wow that patio! What a beautiful experience! Really enjoyed the Javi’s tacos and their queso was perfect. My friend got shrimp wrapped in bacon, she said it was delicious. Didn’t get dessert, but I saw someone get apple pie on a skillet and I will definitely be trying that next time. It smelled incredible. Our server seemed happy to be there and always had a smile. A friendly bald manager came by to check on us. He was very nice. Looking forward to coming back to try several other things.
